Currently live in Maryland but will be in Milwaukee for just one day. I would really like to get my hands on some Founder's and another GOOD beer that doesnt make its way to the Mid-Atlantic region. Interested in stuff I can take back with me versus consume on sight (gave up beer for Lent :slight_frown: ). I will be staying in the middle of downtown and have a rental so a bit of driving will be easy. Thanks in advance for any assistance and pointers.

And in anticipation of the Beast jokes...already done that in college so thanks but no thanks :grinning:.

Discount Liquor on Oklahoma will have the best selection, not to far from downtown.

i'd definitely check out discount liquor on oklahoma ave for the best selection, not only for founders but anything else you'd really want.

Discount is the only place that I've personally been to that still has both the Breakfast and Imperial Stout. And yeah, best bottle shop in Milwaukee.

Thanks for the prompt replies everyone. Can anyone recommend so local brews that I might want to make a point of seeking out? I RARELY make it to that neck of the woods and want to make the most of the trip. Easter is coming quick and I want plenty of good brew to celebrate. If anyone would be interested in trade, I have two Westvletern 12s I could bring with me. I havent been to Brussels in awhile but I think I can spare two for something yummy in return.

Anything from Central Waters will be awesome, you can find them at Discount.

I highly recommend the Central Waters Peruvian Morning, the Bourbon Barrel Stout... well, pretty much anything, ha.

Central Waters limited release stuff is great. Their everyday lineup is ok. Grab New Glarus Raspberry Tart or Belgian Red.

Dude, I feel your pain. I gave up beer for Lent one year. Like they said Discount on Oklahoma is the best place to stop. They still have founders breakfast stout on the shelf. As for locals, they have a Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout (1 bottle limit), Central Waters Peruvian Morning (2 bottle limit), and Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Barleywine (2 bottle limit). Max those out and pick up a bottle or two of Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout. Then pick up any New Glarus that entices you. Other notable locals would be O'so Lupulin Maximus and Central Waters Illumination, both double IPAs.

Damn, I am officially thirsty now. Great thing is, not having to worry about flying commercial, I can stock up! I will have a buddy with me so I will make him buy some for me too. It is looking like my first beer after Lent is going to be a tough call to make. I can't make it to the store for any more before I leave tomorrow, but I do have a bottle of the DFH 75 minute IPA that I could bring for trade as well. No clue how it tastes yet, but just picked it up yesterday.
