Alls I'm saying is if it's 4 packs of CBS count me in, but if it's bombers put me down for an easy pass. Hope springs eternal!

Also cbs bomber format only was prob to get people to drink it before the maple fades and the beer turns to sh1t in 6 more months

Though this is hard to prove, I really think Blushing Monk was a worse beer in 2015 than it was in 2011 (there was also a 2007 release, but I never had it fresh.) I was blown away by that beer fresh in 2011, and very underwhelmed in 2015. Now I understand that I may have changed a lot in four years, but we also did a Vertical (07,11,15) and everyone thought '11 was the best by far, and it had rich, fruit qualities to it that we just couldn't imagine developing in the '15.

Long aside, but I'm usually a "it's you, not the beer" person when it comes to year-to-year changes, but this is one where I'm passionately on the otherside.

Next brewery only mothership release is Sleeper Cell. I have to imagine there was a time I was excited about this beer, right?

I believe you were excited. Or, at least I was/am. It's a solid DIPA. Tons of bitter, mostly clear, not juicy or filled with hype. Looking forward to it.

Not sure what happened, but I'm already seeing bottles for sale here in Portland (bombers and 4 packs). Would be curious to hear what sort of prices you all are seeing near the brewery.

4 packs here are in the $24 - $25 range, and was told that bombers at a local Costco have been priced around $16.50.

For whatever it's worth, I like this year's batch better than last year's. The beer seems a bit richer, and with a lot more coffee character. I ended up buying very little KBS last year, but will likely buy more heavily this year (depending on availability).

    Cheers!

Binny's across Chicagoland will have KBS 4pks for $25.99, but since grocery store chains Jewel and Meijer are getting it too I am hoping it is a buck or two cheaper.

From Binnys this morning (via Email):

Founders has been brewing this decadent fan favorite for over a decade. KBS begins as an amped up “imperialized” version of their famous Breakfast Stout. A chocolate and coffee lover’s dream, this silky-smooth Oatmeal stout spends 12 months in bourbon barrels – resting patiently in caves below the city of Grand Rapids. This year’s barrels have been tapped, the bottles are filled – without further ado, 2018 Founders KBS.

    Founders KBS4 Pack of 12oz Bottles$25.99.

The aroma of KBS is something to treasure. Chocolate truffles, coffee, pralines, and a wisp of coconut - all rolled into one. Soft and smooth across the tongue, it delivers layers of dark chocolate with ribbons of caramel and vanilla bean. As per usual, its double digit ABV remains artfully well hidden. Arguably a dessert within itself, but like Breakfast Stout, it pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts. It’s also great with pancakes. *Available in store only, supplies are extremely limited.

Jewel in Frankfort said they got it, the customer service rep couldn't find it. Said she needs to wait for her Osco people to get in.
