Too many comparisons to Rubaeus here, which is in the running for Founders' worst beer, so I'll be steering well clear. $16 for a non-BA stout is laughable, fruit or not.

i see a lot of people commenting about the hefty price tag. i agree, it is expensive and i'm not sure if i'd buy it agin. but many bombers i've seen are just as expensive or more, i never see anything from the Bruery for less then twenty bucks. and this was a really unique, complex and tasty beer. i think the price was high but not absurd. as someone else mentioned i've seen 12 oz bottles from avery and allagash sold for about the same price.

Great beer! Had it last weekend and it did not dissappoint! Its defenitely not a mix of Rubaeus and Breakfast Stout ( I know cause i tried that awhile ago and didnt like it). Great beer heavy ras but blended well. Great beer will not let you down!

Good at first sip, but you'll need help with this one. So. Damned. Sweet...

Picked up a bottle in Cedar Falls, IA today for $13.99. Was happy with that price. Don't think I can wait very long though to crack it open...

Question though: Would this one be worth aging? I saw someone earlier in this thread say that aging fruity beers is good but I've also heard the opposite. That fruity beer needs to be drank fresh to be enjoyed to its fullest. I know the raspberry isn't the dominant flavor, but was still wondering other people's opinions. If this one is as good as I hope it is, I'll buy another bottle or two and may consider aging one a bit. Just curious...

I'd not age it. I haven't had it, but I can't imagine it turning out better than fresh.

Still waiting to open up my bottle. Price was definitely "Wtf?" high, but if it's as good as some people are saying, I won't care as much.

Plenty of this made it to my neck of the woods, but I decided to pass on this one. Nothing against Founders (I love their beers), but it was $15 for a bomber here and I didn't want to pay that much for a non-imperial stout. I do hope a keg of it shows up at my local bottle shop so I still get to try it.

Last night I bought a bottle of this and Epic Big Bad Baptist at Woodman's. I should have bought two bottles of Big Bad Baptist. Big Lushious is just cloyingly sweet and way too heavy on the raspberry for my tastes. I haven't been this unimpressed by a Backstage beer since Mango Magnifico.

I had it last night on tap. I thought it was tasty, tasty enough I would have another. Chocolate covered raspberry. It seems like they are taking the backstage series a different direction this year, which technically might not be a bad thing. Dissenter was an excellent beer, have to give credit where credit is due.

$12.99 here in Wisco. I think this will improve after a little time.

I don't plan on aging one long. Maybe 3-6 months. I think it'll help it a little.

Had it on draft last night for the first time at mug club at Founders. Overall I can't believe this is a backstage brew. That said I'm sure my wife is gonna love it.

Even just a few months will dramatically improve the taste of this-IMO.

Had it on tap yesterday and just wasn't feeling it, glad I didn't spend another $10 for a bomber.

I paid $8 for a 12oz draft pour last night here in Tampa, FL, and was NOT disappointed. Great beer. This has been a great season for stouts so far!

I absolutely loved Dissenter. One of my favorites from 2014 and it would be a staple in my fridge if they offered it in 12 oz bottles.

That all said, I only enjoyed that beer when found on tap. I wasn't about to spend $15 for a 750 ml bottle of the stuff....despite how much I enjoyed the beer.

Why is everyone calling this a bomber? The ones sold in MN were 750's. Only 3.2 oz difference - but that is 15% more than a bomber.
