founders breakfast stout around?

if you, or you know anyone, thats going to be in iowa city area...John's had some a few weeks ago. I bought 3 4-packs with a november bottling date. Still had some left. gotta think it will be real scarce anywhere right now though. i was shocked they still had it...good luck to you man! it will be back shortly if you can't find it.

 

I can't say for sure for any store in particular, but I know I've seen it all over the place.
I would call a few shops near your location. Chances are it won't take you too long.

had to be the last few weeks if true because John's is probably about the most well known beer stop in iowa and thats where i got it 2 weeks ago.

 

You would have to call, but I would try Hanover Wine and Spirits. It's a surprisingly good craft beer and brew supply store, but they tend to have things sit on the shelves, because they're in Hanover. Not exactly a flourishing craft beer scene there. It's a 15 minute drive west of Maple Grove, and if you're making the trip I would suggest going to the River Inn for a burger. The place is always packed for dinner time though.

 

This week, although we sold out before that happened. I'm sure some back alley places or non Fleck might still have it in, but the big names should all be gone by now.

 

I've seen Founders at several DSM Hy-Vee's lately, though one of the managers told me they are having issues getting it. He thought the distributors were having trouble getting it. Seems odd that Founders would come to a new market and then not supply it very well.

 

I've been looking recently as well and coming up empty. On the bright side, the next "season" of Breakfast Stout should be hitting shelves in about 2 months. If memory serves, the first bottling in 2012 was an August date with an early September delivery in MN. And, they're going to 6 packs at the same $9.99 price point (per their press release ~Feb).

 

Well, according to their new blog post today, Breakfast Stout is remaining a 4pk. :-(

I saw a bunch at Rum River the other day in Anoka.

I believe South Lyndale has it too. Might want to call on that one though.

 

Bummer. I'm a bit in awe of this, if only from a "who's manning the ship" perspective as they changed so quickly from announcing 6 packs to reverting to 4 packs. I'll still enjoy every sip once it's around
