Founders Breakfast Stout NJ?

Got a case of it at one store near me for $54.99. Another store jacked their price from $10.49 to $20 overnight. May not be dealing with them anymore depending if it just a shady employee or just their practice.

 

What would be the advantage to the employee to raise the price of beer without the knowledge of management? It is not like a liquor store clerk typically gets a commission, and most stores' POS systems make it hard to just take the markup out of the till after the sale. If they wanted to "hide" the beer for their own later purchase, seems there'd be an easier way that raising the price - like in that empty Thunderbird box in the back.

And, in NJ, most prices are charged at the register by scanning the bar code (I haven't seen a real price tag on an item in years) - not an easy thing to change for the average employee.

 

The place closest to my home still has no POS. They still sticker the beers, wine and liquor.

 

1/4 or 1/2? If it was a quarter, how much did it set you back? I just finished a 1/4 of dirty bastard and I was looking for a good fall/winter beer to replace it with.
