For any Brit fans of American ales, I don't know if this has been posted in a thread before in the UK forum (this is my first time back for a few months and I have to admit I am not a fan of this new site and not sure if or for how long I will stick around. For some reason I have got out of the habit of visiting BA but have still been enjoying the beers!) Anyway, enough of that drivel, I just came on to say that I noticed over the weekend that Beermerchants have got Founders Breakfast Stout in stock!!!! I thought I would never see this beer on these shores. Buy it now while you can as each customer is only allowed a maximum of 2 bottles of it, it is priced at £4.10 a bottle. Having had a read of Founders Website, that they are expanding and apparently are going to be brewing more KBS so with a bit of luck we may get to see some of that over here too one day. TTFN.

    cheers for the tip off

have had most versions of Founders breakfast stout when in the US - but welcome a re-visit

have you ever used beermerchants before?

i've always been put off by the 'wooly' delivery statement (next 5 working days!!!)

thats pretty piss poor in this day and age when you contrast with BOE where you will either get the beers the next day or the day after depending on when you order, so can plan to be around to take delivery

do beermerchants allow a neighbour to sign or leave the delivery round the back, anyone?

    Hey Ruds!,

I used Beermerchants last year when they first got hold of some Founders stuff. I have to say that although they stated delivery time was 'within 5 working days' the bloody courier delivered my case 2 days after ordering it. Of course, their 'spy camera' was in full working mode to alert them that I was out and deliver then. Fortunately my neighbour signed for it. I had expressly asked them to NOT deliver this shipment until this coming Friday at the earliest but I now have to go back to Manchester that day so rang them up and requested delivery be put back until Monday next week. Let's see how the delivery goes this time after speaking to their customer services.

    cheers AEK,

I've sent them an email asking them what the nearest depot is to where I live as my neighbours aren't always around!

btw - you get used to the new forum in time, truth be told it's a better piece of kit than the old one and almost everyone has now re-surfaced !

Best of luck with the ordering Ruds,

I was very impressed with their speed of delivery last year and I am hoping it is still as good.

As for the forum, hmmm! maybe, only time will tell !

Enjoy your FBS when you get it!!

Thanks for the tip off but like ruds I've also been put off by what seems to be a rather obtuse delivery policy.
Anyway, don't know how I missed this as I swear I was only looking at beer merchants two or three days ago and bang there's a ton of new beer and so much of it is already gone. Bugger!

Got a KBS but actually more excited about the Windsor and Eton beers! Someone was recommending the Republika earlier if I remember rightly.

Cool, thanks for the info. I've taken the plunge and picked some up, along with a few other beers. This is the second internet beer order this week - I'm really going to have to control myself for a while.....

And welcome back! It mayn't look like much but the atmosphere is good.....

Thanks for the welcome back jazzyjeff13,
Just out of curiosity, did you select any other Founders beers? I thoroughly recommend their Porter, an exceptional ale, a far cry from their Pale Ale which I thought was very disappointing.

Yeah - I picked up 2 breakfast stouts and then one each of the other available beers (porter, pale ale and red rye). Not cheap, but I hope they'll be good. Besides, how often does one have an opportunity like this?

Well, it would appear that you got the last of the Porter! The Red Rye is quite good too. My sentiments entirely on this opportunity, get 'em while you can cos you may never get another chance.

2 less red rye and 2 less breakfast stouts available, heading my way amongst a few other items!

How long til i get the email saying they were out of stock when I ordered it so can't have it? Law of sod damn it. That happened last year with SN Celebration on BoE. They didn't say anything though, just didn't send it and refunded the £3.

I love Red's Rye! I'm not touching these though- too rich for my wallet and I'm heading to NJ/PA in June, so I'll be able to get my hands on these for cheapies. I hope you enjoy them though- like others have said; the breakfast stout and porter are also fantastic.

Still haven't bought the FBS. I only want a couple and there's nothing else on the site that real grips me so I might give it a miss. Bad move??

Beermerchants are pretty good and have a nice range of beers but their delivery prices annoy me - it costs more to ship to me in Northern Ireland than it does to ship to Belgium !!
