Founders Brewery Surprise!

I don't write reviews but I got the chance to try it in January. It was a growler fill which we drank the same night. Easily the best beer I've ever had.

 

Yes, they brewed it again, just didn't bottle any. It started popping up early this year around the country then died off a little. This past weekend is the first time it has been on at the brewery for quite a while.

Anyone's guess how much is sitting in barrels right now, if any.

 

When Prop '15 goes to sleep at night it dreams of growing up to be CBS.

 

Plus it's highly probable that some tap houses picked up a keg from a previous release and are sitting on it for some special future local event. This is going to cause all of us to go nuts about whether another new batch has been released when it's really an aged keg.

As for some sitting in barrels right now at Founders, I'm guessing that it is there in small quantities only, and may only be available in the future in kegs rather than a bottle release.

 

Had it once on tap. Went into our local Liquor Barn last year asking when they'd have KBS, he told me, then said, "welp, we've got the tail end of a keg of CBS on tap too, if you're interested." I was interested.

 

My personal opinion is these are all aged kegs. There have been A LOT of kegs that popped up over the course of the year though, throughout the country. It seems enough that they could have bottled for limited distro instead - or at least taken care of the home town for bottles (or state). I suppose by keggin it all it keeps it out of the hands of hoarders and gets it to a broader market which was maybe the intent. Whatever the reason, I'm just happy to live a few minutes from the brewery and have taken advantage of several pours throughout the year. It's nice that so many people were able to try it in 2015. We will see what 2016 brings soon enough.

Well a bar/restaurant had a keg of CBS they finally tapped tonight........went in 25 minutes. Effin delicious!

 

I also was at Founders last Saturday when it opened and drank CBS for a few hours. It doesn't get much better than that!

 

Top of my list of beers I want to try. Will probably never get a chance though unfortunately.

 

I am hoping they have a decent amount in barrels right now. They seemed to have it on tap every day for KBS week this past year, so I am hoping that continues next year. Bottles from the last run went to employees only last Christmas.

 

does anybody know if they are going to do this tapping on black friday again? pretty sure it was tapped on black Wednesday as well

Would like to see that confirmed somewhere. The bombers wouldn't surprise me too much but 4pack bottles?

 

do they do the black friday tappings of kbs and cbs every year? or was that just a one time thing
