Founders Brewing Co. To Release Doom

Saw Founders posted yesterday that Doom should start showing up in stores this week. Probably the typcial week - 2 week delay for Indiana though.

 

They have already done this, several times. Draft only.

Gotta hit the events like Black Party or Founders Fest....or find a lucky bar with it on tap.

And that is why this hobby is so much fun. Something for everyone. Even people who like nasty mango pepper beers

I am not a fan of other BA IPA's but dang was Doom good!

 

Grabbed one on tap tonight. I quite liked it, it's different. Also, I thought it was a lot better than the barrel aged black IPA they had at the Black Party. Grabbed a 4 pack on the way out.

 

still dont understand why there are two sizes and the larger size is so much more$.

At the bottle shop I go to the 22 is 11.59 and the 4 pack is 15.59....I was kinda surprised at how cheap the 22 price quote was.....

While I'm not an IPA fan, I am a BA Founders fan, so will pick up a single 12oz and have a try...

 

Bottled shop got 3 cases this week and grabbed a 4 pack. Was supposed to be $17.95 here but they had mislabeled it $10.95. Wasn't sure what to think of the description and style but reminds me of something between a BA American barleywine and a long island ice tea without the sweet and sour. Very different and decided against going back for more at the correct price.

 

I had an experimental barrel aged IPA produced by Arbor Brewing last week and I was very impressed. Barrel aged IPA is awesome.

 

So far it seems like there's not much excitement built up for Doom. Maybe appropriately named? And if DKML follows, then maybe they're just trying to make CBS and KBS look better?

 

What's the word? This hitting stores today?

 

Sometimes... Haven't had doom yet. But Barrel Aged Redankulous was amazing, Barrel Aged Huma Lupa Licious, horrible.

 

That's because Short's doesn't brew good beer anymore they brew too many styles and no longer brew like they used to. I'm a big supporter of regular Huma Lupis, Good Humans, Space Rock,Soft Parade, and Contaversial IPA but haven't had them in a while because afraid they won't taste good due to the bad flavors in Pajama Party and Chief Hopper.

 

Didn't see this coming, Doom is harder to attain than KBS but was fortunate to get 1 bottle.

 

Agree here. I used to buy them all the time, all the new stuff, and now I hardly buy anything. Was going to try Slurm but didn't want to go out of my way to get it.

I've seen places putting a 1-2 bottle limit on it and then another place nearby with a huge display of it for $15 a pack. I'd like to get at least a bottle but haven't been hitting the shops at all. What was the price in your area?

I got some other stuff with it but I want to say I paid $4.50, definitely under $5. I wanted 2 but 1 is better than none. My bottle shop guy said his Founders distributor told him he has 40 accounts but only 10 for Doom so yeah good luck on your search as I believe the quantity is low. I suggest going to your most frequent store and asking
