Has anyone tried these two next to each other?

Really curious how the 11' is doing.

Havn't had the '11. But I think this is where we are supposed to say "last year was better than this year!"

2015 was light maple syrup, it resembled a faint Bourbon County-esq more than a maple sweetness. In no comparison to No Rules. I haven't had 2011, but if I did, I would definitely drink it this Winter though.

Allegedly '11 has not had much maple presence for a few years now. Adjunct/additive stouts just don't age very well generally, at least in the sense that those flavors are first to fade.

I had 2011 in 2013; thought it was quite good, and better than 2015.

I drank the 11 from a bottle in 2012, had a draft of 2014 in December '14. From my tasting notes, I remember the 11 to be a bit more dense and rich than the recent batch. All the flavors still in the more recent batch, and still a great brew, but I don't remember it being quite as tasty as the 2011

I had the 11 in 2013, and had numerous glasses of the 2015 this year. I tough it was much better fresh and probably the best beer I have ever tasted. It doesn't hurt that I live 2 miles from the brewery and I went there five days straight to drink it on tap. The 2011 I had tasted more of molasses than maple. If I had bottles I would drink them all as fresh as possible.

I had the 11 in 2013. It was incredible. A definite "wow" beer for me.

Never had any of them , would love to though , Trade? Anyhow , I have brewed a few adjunct / additive stouts and as stated above , the flavors fade pretty steadily after a year. A Mol'e stout I did last year was really good , but all that came through at then end of the 2nd keg was cinnamon.

Had '11 at abraxas day 2014. Delicious. Still tons of maple. 2015 is weak in the same way that KBS is weak compared to BCBCS. Just not as decadent as the original.

From the replies and other reviews, it sounds like this really depends on how the beer has been cellared. I like the comparison of 2015 is weak in the same way KBS is weak compared to BCBCS. But 11 is not? @jlsims04

I recently had some 2013 bcbcs and there was barely any coffee remaining. I like my adjunct stouts fresh, or if it's kbs, then 6 months old.

I haven't heard anyone say it tastes good recently. You will notice the replies saying it was good say they drank it in 12/13.

Not in my opinion. '11 was very rich. '15 was very good but lost that richness that I loved from the 11

My buddy is bringing an 11 this weekend and a local place has 2015 on tap right now. Hoping to do a side by side tomorrow night if it works out !!

I brought a '12-'14 BCBCS vertical to my Mom's for X-Mas and everyone agreed that all, even '12 had plenty of coffee left to them. How was that '13 you had stored?

Anywho, the CBS bottle I had blew me away back in '13. This year's draft was disappointing, thin in mouthfeel and there was not much maple syrup to be found. KBS has always been boozy and disappointing whenever I've had it on draft compared to the bottle. 2015 KBS is drinking better than ever right now.

This! I had a bottle of '11 for my birthday last year. Way too sweet. What I had this year during KBS week was ridiculous. Fortunately I had to go to the KBS bottle share or I would have stayed and ended up in jail or something. Thanks @TastyDelicousness
