Founders CBS 2012

    I hope this is a dumb question, but does anyone know if Founders is releasing CBS again in 2012? I understand that the next beer in the backstage series (after Frangelic) will be their 15th anniversary beer (TBA) slated for release in November... Last year CBS came out October 1, so will this anniversary beer replace CBS this year, or will CBS come out before or after it??

    Last year was the first time they bottled and distributed CBS, so unfortunately there's no "set schedule" like with something like Dark Lord or KBS. As of now, they have yet to announce another run of CBS.

    cbs used to come out on a somewhat regular basis in kegs, i dont think they will bottle it this year

    it doesn't seem strange to anyone else that Founders would only bottle it once, after everyone went so crazy about it last year?

    Oh it will be made/bottled again....it's the when part that no one knows.

    I highly doubt they would run this out there again anytime soon. The focus will be on that special brew for their 15th anniversary and that certainly won't be CBS.

    BLiS is still very alive and very well. I don't think maple syrup maturation is a fast process, so the number of barrels that Founders can purchase from them will always be somewhat limited.

    AKA: Supply will probably never meet demand. But you can bet that it will be bottled again.

    I really, really, really, really wish Terrapin would pony up for some of those maple barrels and age a batch of Wake N Bake in it.

    Will be in November. It'll be a huge event this year. In the meantime, I'm off to Founders Fest tomorrow. Can't wait.

    Honestly, I wouldn't care for CBS to be released.

    I remember working that day, and taking a 2.5 hour lunch break to drive all over the county trying to find a bottle, and hearing all the horror stories about price gouging and truck stalkers. My manager tore me a new one for dicking around all afternoon for beer, and the stress was a bitch.

    Although, it was a damn delicious brew....

    Could be worse, you could have had the bottle you reserved sold out from under you...

    Luckily, I found a place who had it on tap and went to town. Like 8 glasses town....

    Hahaha, as someone who was sick the next day from too much CBS, I did have to call in sick. This is one of the few times in my life I actually LOL'd and meant it.
