For Jewel releases....phone first! The closest one to me told me they would get it delivered today, so waiting in line would habe obviously been a waste. Made it to Wauconda at 6:30. Saw the last two bottles walk out as I went in. Hustled to the next closest that I knew started at 6 and was able to get a bottle. With the Whole Foods BC releases today, I didn't think CBS at Jewel would be such a draw locally.
It isn't just beer, Jewel bungled a Van Winkle bourbon lelease a few weeks back via social media. They need to realize the fervor these cause and communicate that to store managers and the service desk folks. I get a clerk stocking a shelf may have no idea what CBS or Prop is, but the manager should if they are broadcasting these releases through social media.
Until they learn that, just call. That got me one today, and an ORVW last month.
    Good hunting!

Sorry I wasn't clear. They still haven't started thinking rationally.

In other news, boss stopped to get doughnuts at a grocery store south of GR and said there was a huge display this morning with hundreds of bottles. It does appear that west Michigan is indeed swimming in CBS.

My dad went to the 95th street jewel in naperville and was first in line. They didn't sell till 8AM but he secured one.

Just checked with a Jewel near me. As soon as the phone picks up she says "are you calling about the beer"?

    These poor people.

Anyone have intel on whether this will be on tap most all weekend at Founders, or do we need to time our bottle pickup appropriately. Was thinking of stopping in this evening.

It seems the consensus is Jewel stores locally had no idea. I was at Jewel on ogdon in naperville , and they couldn't find it, and think the liquor manager locked it in his office..and he wasn't coming in until 8. I had to leave after 20 minutes. The lack of communication between Corporate and the local stores is frustrating for sure, but it's not the fault of some 16 year old or 60 year old making $23k a year. the funny part was hearing some saying "this is bullshit. I already have 3 but I want more". Haha.

Went to the Jewel in Naperville (Naper Blvd.) and got one. They had 3 cases (1 per person). Started selling right at 7. I got there around 6:45 and was 24th in line.

Think it was 5, definitely heard they started at 8 (Bourbon County was 7, but whatever). Definitely a lot of familiar faces. At least that worked out.

If I can get 2 bottles locally, I think I may just eat the ticket for the Founders release. Given that there's so much being released, I'm surprised they ticketed this event. But I guess I'm the fool for buying a ticket.

If this is anything like other releases, yes it will be on tap through Sunday, and starting again next Friday (if not all next week).

Just like how BCBS goes to good Goose/ANInBev accounts, Jewel probably sells a lot of Buffalo Trace.

Genesee County Michigan is the black hole of Michigan craft beer. 2 stores in the flint area got one case each, $35 per bottle, total joke of a price. This county is like the forgotten step child and what we do get is so gauged. Happy I have my ticket for next weekend.

I was fortunate. My wife's aunt works at a Jewel and bought two bottles for me when they went on sale this morning. Call it cheating the system if you want. I don't have to hunt for this.

Jewel Wicker Park started selling at 730. They had 5 cases and realized as they started selling that 3 of them were DKML. Managed to get one there, then headed to Kinzie Jewel. They started selling at 8. not sure how many cases they had. Made it in to work at 815 with 2 bottles.
