20 cases at my local. 4 per person w prob 25 people lined up. $25 per bottle. Would guess gone by now as many people were looping back.

Ahh man. I drive by here every morning. After seeing the Jewel comments I gave up this morning. Didn't know Mariano's would be getting it.

It seems even if this sells out quickly there is a shit ton to go around.

Gotta love reading all those tips. I went to Naperville Binnys at around 8:30am and I was 13th/14th person in the line. I'm looking forward to the release event at Binnys LP tonight to my precious pour to see if it's worth the hype or not before shelling out another $28 on 2nd bottle.

Binnys Downtown on Grand Ave sold out shortly after opening doors at 9. Maybe 50 people in line when I got there at 8:50. They were on their last case when I got mine.

I went to the Lincoln Square Jewell at about 8:30 (after the Loyola WF for Bourbon County). The poor women in the liquor area had no idea and said a bunch of people were lined up at 6pm and she had to “take names and phone numbers for rain checks.”

Left and went to Lincoln Ave Binny’s where the line was entering store as I arrived at 9. Limit one, but I looped back for a second with no issue. Looked like about 4 cases on the floor to start, my second bottle was out of the last case.

Founders has BA Sumatra on. It is really good.
The CBS is pretty fantastic as well. Just a subtle maple flavor

Did you wait in line

The FIB CBS situation is pretty funny here, like watching a game of whac-a-mole. But yes, maybe you guys should have started an "Windy City CBS Hunt" thread or something...best of luck!

Nah, Illinois is like the cousin that has a bunch of cool stuff but has maxed out all his credit cards, has been in and out of jail, and you know eventually will show up at your door with their hand out. In the meantime we do get to enjoy all the cool stuff though.

Actually drove over from Clarkston this am.
Spent a total of less then 10 minutes in line at 4 shops to get what I wanted (12 bottles) and got to Founders at 10:40. Waited in line for 20 minutes (I was 16thin line) and got my allocation in minutes. Walked in and ordered 2 beers. Sitting outside in the sun enjoying the day
    I’ll be back home by 2:30
Side note I am sure I was one of the last 5 to pick up KBS (literally got there 20 minutes before closing on the last pickup day) and one of the first 20 to pick up CBS.

I’ll add - would have been nice if Founders had given the first x in line something, maybe a snifter or a hat or something, anything.

Wow, it was $28 at Naperville Binny's?!? At Naperville Jewel and it was $24 - with tax was $25 and change.

Indeed, it was $25.99 plus tax which it brought to almost $28. Which Jewel did you go to in Naperville?? I almost went to Jewel on Odgen Ave to wait and freeze my butt off, but I wanted to sleep in a bit more and went to Binnys instead.

For folks in the burbs....Went to Crystal Lake Jewel this morning...all sold out by 7:25....Went to Binnys Algonquin...they got 3 cases....over 36 people in line before open. Managed to get one bottle..some people didn't.....it's sold out....drove over to Woodman's in Carpentersville...they got three cases in. down to one case when I arrived by 9:30. Scored a bottle and the last case was polished off by the people in line behind me...plenty of BCS at 10.99 a bottle though left behind the counter

I think it would be most accurate to say that CHICAGO is the cool kid in the family, and the rest of Illinois (there are exceptions, but I'm lazy) is the side of the family that does time and always rifles through your medicine cabinets.

Does Founders have glassware for CBS? Headed up there tomorrow myself. Sounds like they had it tapped right at opening.

They have a barrel aged series goblet on the website but I haven't seen anything specific to CBS

Champaign-Urbana in Illinois is literally flooded with CBS right now. Both big liquor stores had it at opening today and a whole bunch of grocery stores also have it. Limits range from 1 to 3 bottles per person, except for one jackass who was allowed to buy all 4 cases at one place, and costs of ranged from 23.99 to 24.99 per bottle. Looking forward to poping one of mine tonight or tomorrow!
