Founders CBS 2017 Release

Been waiting for the right time to say something similar but you summed it up nicely!

 

This beer has been on tap at Founders for what seems like forever, which I find surprising as I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Much better than KBS.

This needs to get distributed in 2018!

 

Curious if those stores all had small limits? Doesn't seem likely to me that the small store would have 100 unique customers in 35 minutes & anecdotally it seems people are loading up on it for some reason when having the chance.

 

As mentioned, it has been on for seemingly months, taunting me every time I went to the Founders website.

Sitting here having one now. It is that rare beer that actually is everything you dreamed it would be.

 

Yeah, I was surprised by how quickly it sold out in many places. It's still a shelf turd in SOME areas, but most sold quickly. Rishi's in GR had no limits, and it sold in under an hour. People were buying by the case. Was a bit surprised by the demand, but not the supply.

 

I've been saying this since 2012 (when I think it actually debuted at the KBS release that year). It's honestly been my favorite Founder's beer. It was the first one I had today, before CBS.

 

So if it lasts more than an hour, it's a shelf turd?

 

so binnys and jewel get 1-4 cases yet nebraska gets fucking 15 at a hyvee. I dont understand.

 

At the only place in my town without a limit a guy ahead of me grabbed 15 bottles. Most everyone else was taking between two and six. This store (Hy-Vee grocery store) had 15 cases though, but I could see if they didn't and didn't have a limit only a handful would have gotten it.

 

I opened 1 of my bottles and I am loving it. I have had a bottle of the 2011 and had a few drafts of the 2014. This is right in my “flavor zone” and am kicking myself for not getting more this morning when you had the chance. Would definitely buy many more if I am blessed with the opportunity.

 

15 cases at our Hy-Vee down in Springfield too.

I was very surprised. A couple days ago they didn't think they'd get much at all.

 

Its not, its in a small city outside of Omaha, I know of ones in Omaha and Lincoln that also got large shipments.

Papillon is the one that has 15 cases that isnt in the big cities before anyone jumps on my nuts.

 

I have to give some praise to Jewels. The one I went to originally on Elston called me back (had left name and phone number with the AM customer service guy) early afternoon to apologize and offer to hold one for me, as they had a smaller than expected stock. I told them to keep it for anyone else who came in as i've got plenty in hand now. Even if you're upset with the process it pays to be nice to the staff.

 

Fellow friendly FIBs, buddy of mine recently moved to Oak Park. He hit Binny's after work and long gone. Any idea where he can still score a bottle? He'd be thrilled with just 1. TYIA!

 

Nope. I was at Rishi’s in GR. He sold out if 30 cases in like 1.5 hours.

 

I'd be surprised if they're still there, but the last places I know that had it were the Mariano's in Westmont and the Jewel in Clarendon Hills.
