I bet Total Wine will get a good amount, too. They always have tons of Founders stuff sitting around.

I have no interest in buying a bottle, but wouldn't mind trying it.

I'm unlikely to buy a bottle (at that price), but I'd be curious to try it. If it shows up on tap somewhere around Seattle, it'd be good if someone would post that on this thread.

Yes, at least 6-8 places will have it.

I'm kinda on the fence with the whole "only loyal customers" will get a bottle or two. Yes, this is already occurring for the Founders CBS release. Stogies n Hops in Lynnwood WA, has already assigned their small allotment to "Friends & Best Customers".

Most of the CBS bottles have already been hand delivered by a Founders rep at certain locations. You can almost understand the practice of holding these types of releases back for certain customers. The problem arises when some customers spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars at these establishments, but don't really build up a relationship with the owners, managers, staff, or whomever.

In my opinion, this current Canadian Breakfast Stout release is similar on a smaller scale to the Pappy Van Winkle releases. Not sure how many know, but the Seattle region received various bottles of Pappy 2-3 weeks ago. I know for a 100% fact, nearly every establishment held these few bottles back for certain customers. Others used clever ways to market, raffle, and literally hood wink people into a frenzy for the Pappy bottles earlier this month.

Speaking of the Total Wine's & BevMo's, they received an extremely small allotment of Pappy, thus you would think Founders should show up at these big box stores. I'm also curious if any grocery stores around town might get a few bottles of CBS. The chain grocery stores locations (managers/buyers) that tend to focus on "craft beer" to an extent

Both of the A1 Hop Shops along Greenwood Ave are getting CBS. I think they made a good amount of the stuff. Like I've already said, I've absolutely have no interest in getting a bottle, but wouldn't mind trying it on draft.

I had the CBS for the first time several years back (2012?) at a BA get together in Seattle where all the beers tasted were stouts, imperial stouts and barrel aged ones. CBS in bottle (from 2011) was brought out at the end of the night and I still remember it tasting fantastic! Couple years later Brouwer's Cafe had it at their Big Wood event on tap (a special brew announced at the last minute) and it was soooo good! By far my favorite Founders beer had to date with their Imperial Stout right behind. I am really hoping this years will live up to my memories.

Dangit @distantmantra , that was supposed to be one of North Seattle's secret honey holes haha. Dead serious, both locations (especially the original on 104th) have long been solid locations to hit up when all other places sell out of stuff. When I first moved to Seattle, I stumbled in there after grabbing tacos from the Mexican food truck in parking lot. I live in Greenwood sandwiched between Chucks, QFC, and both A-1's. Moving to Woodinville in December. Gonna miss certain things about Greenwood.

BTW: The A-1 shops had KBS on draft for the longest time. Owner (female) and her brother IIRC are fantastic people. Allowed a growler fill of KBS for less than $15. Will always give them business if in the area.

No hype, this CBS is one of the best things I've ever tasted!

Heads up: Total Wine Interbay is down to 5 bottles at 10am.

Chucks Greenwood is not crowded as of 10:15 am. On tap and plenty of bottles.

Minor glitch, but it appears various BevMo's south of downtown Seattle receieved 2-3 cases. So far today, the BevMo's north of Seattle have no stock.

A-1 Hop Shop 104th sold out of bottles before 9am. They each received one keg and 104th street currently on tap.

    Prices around town ranging $25.99-$28.99

Again, this stuff is delicious. Very unique taste and I personally think it's better than most stouts I've ever had. Not overly sweet either.

$9 for 8 oz at Chucks. How much for a pour at A1? Might have to stop in shortly.

edit: $11 at A1. $2 for a sample. Guess I'm heading to Chucks.

Yea, just arrived home. Must say I was a little disappointed with the pricing at the 144th A-1 Hop Shop location. As @distantmantra mentioned, I too left A-1 144th street location after getting those prices. Here's what really raised my eye brows......the CBS bottles at the 144th street location were costing $30+ per bottle. Um, no thanks. Weird because the location down the street on 104th were ringing up approximately $26. Maybe the young guy at 144th was confused on pricing. At first, he was quoting $20-$25 for a pint of CBS. He then called the owner and corrected the confusion on that end. That's a little rich for my blood.

BevMo located in Tuckwilla had CBS for those interested (as of 12:00 pm).

I'll be honest, a person could easily accumulate a case of Founders CBS with a little planning and available time today. I purchased three bottles and could have grabbed at least 4 more by noon. BUT, not interested in hoarding, trading, selling, or being a complete jerk. Of course, the investment is kinda ridiculous when you think about it.

**Also forgot to add for those that aren't able to get CBS, AB InBev has been dropping additional shipments of BCBS around town this week. I'm talking about LOTS of regular BCBS and Barleywine. Limits have been lifted at plenty of places including Costco, Total Wine, and the Woodinville Haggens to name a few. Drank a bottle of 2017 BCBS last night. It was really good IMO. Yet still, the CBS is way better.**

Interesting that you mention the pricing at the A1 locations. I live in the neighborhood and stopped by both for the first time in a while in recently, not really looking for anything in particular, and was shocked at their pricing. I get around to most of the local shops frequently - though maybe not quite as much as you do  - and they’re easily the most expensive I’ve seen in the area. For example, Deschutes Dissident for $20, the rye/tequila Abyss variants going for $30. The cheapest pints they have are $7, and that’s for a Fremont or Georgetown IPA. They do indeed have a great selection and like you mentioned the staff/owners were really nice and helpful. They have the same convenience store vibe and setup as Chuck’s/Super Deli Mart, which is fine, but doesn’t seem to support such premium pricing. Just seemed a little odd to me.

One last tangent - it perplexes me that shops like this hype and up charge stuff like Fremont B-bomb. You can literally drive 15 minutes down the street, buy it at the source at cost (or at least close to it). I don’t get it.

Yes was super pleased with CBS: the chocolate was the star of the show for me but it's just really nicely balanced.

As expected, I don't really care for it. I don't like coffee and was hoping the maple would dominate but that certainly isn't the case.

Feels so lonely being the only person in Seattle who doesn't drink coffee.

I stopped in at the 104th A1 and asked for a half pour of CBS, she only charged me $5 and I got way more than 4 oz. Nice beer, but I still didn't need a bottle. They had a few left around 11:15am.
