I can't get this link to work... Does it give specific dates and times for bottle releases?

Did the chances of "Better Half" making an appearance just go up with yesterday's firkin? (curmudgeon cask conditioned with maple, vanilla, &cinnamon)

Unlikely. Not often they dig THAT far back. Furthest I've seen them go back was 2 summers ago they pulled out some Bolt Cutter in the Centennial Room for a party during the national homebrew conference.

No, probably just a preview of one of their firkins for the Firkin Freezeout on February 6th. How was it? Sounds tasty, unless the cinnamon was heavy handed.

For anyone that went last year, were certain days really bad, was Saturday crazy, or just normal busy Founders? Just trying to get a sense for how it turned out.

It was a normal busy day, not like the first day CBS was released kinda day. Having said that...the area scene has went a bit nuts this past year. So you never know.

Agreed, just trying to figure a few things out. Read through last year's thread and most of it was talk of the bottle lines and not the crowds inside. In the end, don't want to have to fight a packed crowd just to get a glass of beer.

Ya bottle line was a shit show. Inside was busy, but not like you couldn't get a table standing room only sort of thing.

Maybe they are trying to avoid the shit show aspect of it by not announcing which bottles will be available and when?

Did they announce bottles last year? Only thing I remember was posts on here from people who were there. I also don't remember much of a shitshow as far as bottle releases go. As someone else posted, the day I went (Friday I think) I showed up 30 minutes before open and was within the first 10-12 people or so. Maybe 40-50 people at opening?? Had no problem getting a table and drinks after buying bottles. Now if you come middle of afternoon it may be a different story.

They didn't announce last year, however, the first thing they posted actually had the days they would release bottles. They quickly took that down and replaced with a more generic posting. I was either there or knew someone who was there each day and it was about 40-50 people each day and there was plenty for those in line. KBS was a little more limited and lasted maybe an hour and the FIS and BB lasted quite a bit longer. Lines moved fairly quickly, I think they had 3 people working on getting customers through inside. I went after work at least twice to get CBS and it was busy, but not a shit show. You won't get a table going after work but plenty of standing room.

Yes, that is what I saw too. Would be helpful for planning purposes, but ya really can't go wrong just being there.

I'd take Breakfast Stout over SMB all day long and twice on Sunday. (Yes 48 hours of Breakfast Stout on Sunday)

If anybody wants to meet up down here and have a beer shoot me a message. I'd like to meet some new like minded BAs (the few I've met so far have all been easy going and good people).

No vintage bottles today, I drove by at 9am and there were 2 people in line. There is a sign on the door that says "No vintage bottle sales today"

Just curious - what are people waiting to line up for? 1-2 year old bottles of KBS? Backwoods Bastard bottles that still can be found in most markets? Has anyone had recently bottles of KBS released in 2014 or 2015?

Week and a half ago, opened two bottles- 2014 and 2015 KBS- after going to a place in Chicago pouring 2015 KBS at a stout tap takeover event. Tap option drinking quite well- bottles, not so much. This was consistent when the bottles were fresh as well - not necessarily bad, per se, just, not very good. Am I missing something here?

Just saw the following on the Facebook event page:

Wonder if this means they're forgoing bottle sales entirely this year. Or they're planning on doing some kind of unannounced surprise bottles. Crud, I guess this wasn't particularly helpful either way. Sorry guys.
