Founders Cellar Raid 2016

I really don't understand all the complaining about there not being bottles. It was never stated that there would be, and it is wrong of us to expect there to be bottles just because there was last year. The bottles last year were meant to be a nice surprise for anyone lucky enough to be there at that time. Founders does not want lines around the block, and people drinking on the street making messes for their staff to clean up. That is why they want bottles to be unannounced, IF they choose to release any. That being said, I would love for there to be bottles, but I am not butt hurt that there may not be any. I am just happy to have some great beers on- tap! Have fun and enjoy the event! forget about bottles, you will have more fun!

Definitely hoping some of what's on today will still be around tomorrow (BA Cran sounds pretty damn good), but I'm sure there will be some good options Fri/Sat (in addition to the KBS/CBS).

My Dr. told me today it was time to cut down on the drinking - I'm thinking when they drew blood this morning, KBS/CBS started flowing .

 

I was told CBS started at 6 and blew at 6:30 yesterday.

 

Just left founders. Had Sleeper Cell, BA Honey, CBS, Pale Joe and an All day. Dare I say the BA Honeystuff was the best? Had CBS several times over the last year and it was great but the BA Honeystuff was so smooth and delicious! Equally great, different styles.

It was busy but not crazy. The lines did get crazy about 5:45 since CBS was tapping at 6:00. Reminded me of a busy Saturday. You were easily able to get whatever you wanted.

 

Yeah, I'm not sure about the fuss being made over the bottles. I did score some vintage Backwoods Bastard last year but I got them about 3:00PM in the afternoon. I wouldn't wait in line for an hour or two for bottles. A lot of us beer advocates already have Backwoods, Imperial Stout and KBS already stashed in our own cellars.

 

Ba honeystuff was the best for me. CBS was better last year. I can't remember the number of times I had it last year at founders with no lines. People are going crazy for it at the brewery. Interesting to see how the craft beer scene has changed in a year!

 

Haha, but CBS has been on just down the road at a local bar for the last 3 or 4 days.

They also have 2015 backwoods, 2 four pack limit. Almost no line when I was there a half hour ago

Yes CBS went on at 12:01. Blew at 1:15ish. Very tasty.
