I got my Detroit ticket at 11:39 and only Saturday was sold out. I do like the package this year, though.

I'm going to miss my first KBS Week since they started doing it in 2014. Love the city, the brewery and the people but I'm taking the family down to Florida so had to pass.

Next trip will be to the Detroit taproom - maybe in the summer to check out a baseball game or for KBS Week 2019.

Was noticing the same thing. Amazing. The bar continues to rise in the craft beer world. Now if they had variants or special brewery only offerings, that might bring back the demand. Vanilla KBS anyone?

Tickets still available, one day later.

There was a time when a trip to Grand Rapids was the only reliable way to score more than a bottle or two. Last year, there were floor stacks at Meijers. I understand it's not the same everywhere, but here in the Chicago suburbs, I was passing on it when I saw it in stores as I already had more than I needed.

Founders weren't kidding when they said they were upping production.

You’re probably spot on with this. During KBS weeks in the past, they’ve offered KBS Blast, Nitro KBS, etc. You want to ramp up the hype - bottle small amounts of that stuff and add other variants like you said ie vanilla, blueberry, etc.

I’m sorry. Are we having trouble figuring out why $5 allotment guarantee tickets sold out quickly and why $100 forced allotment tickets are still on sale?

Not really. People pre pay for large tickets all the time when it’s beer they want. There’s lots of example, Abraxas is one.

So you think Perennial makes as much Abraxas as Founders makes KBS?

No, which was why I said beer ‘people wanted’. It’s not the price of a ticket that’s a deterrent. It’s the ease of getting it these days. Which is in part due to both higher supply and less demand.

It's the better availability.....not the cost. And it's a win for beer nerds to be in this situation. Gone are the days of waiting in line at the corner store for a couple overpriced bottles when there are stacks sitting in my local grocery store. Buying a ticket used to be the only way to be sure you got any...at least for me. I bought a CBS ticket because you just never know with a highly hyped release of a beer that hasn't been out in the last 6/7 years. Once I saw the availability, I actually regretted buying it and having to drive over to Grand Rapids to pick it up. So with the multiple waves of KBS I saw last year hitting the grocery, I didn't feel the need to get a KBS ticket this year. I'll pick it up a mile from my house instead of across state. Same story can be said for the next Black Note release, which doesn't even require a ticket or forced allotment.
