Picked up 2 2013 bottles today. 1 for Sunday and 1 to cellar.

How does Victory at Sea compare to Creme Brulee? Had Creme Brulee and I'll be popping V@S Sunday.

My palate could not handle Creme Brulee. I got through about 4-6 ounces, and couldnt do any more than that - soooo sweet. I found VaS to be definitely less sweet, but also didnt pick up much vanilla at all. Picked up more coffee tastes, but that sort of bitter, almost burnt coffee taste. Honestly, I probably wont have either again, but thats just my palate.

I have never had V@S but I can't imagine its as sweet as Creme Brulee. Creme Brulee is just hard to drink because of the sweetness, which is why I have none.

They do not compare IMO. Creme Brulee is ultra sweet basically under-attenuated. Though I do still enjoy it, maybe not as much is I have in the past. VaS is a roasted coffee porter with vanilla, which does add sweetness. Though nowhere near the level of Creme Brulee. Actually similar to regular Hellfighter (VaS). Though Hellfighter might be slightly more hoppy.

Creme Brulee really is too sweet and I definitely wouldn't be drinking it on a regular basis. It's almost more of a novelty beer but its the first beer (when I had it in NY years ago) that blew me away because its so different. I couldn't believe it was really beer and sweet or not, its still pretty impressive what they accomplished with it.

It woud definitely be a challenge to drink one by myself but it's fun to give to friends that aren't into craft beer. They can't believe its "beer".

Creme Brulee is NOTHING like Victory at Sea.

Victory at Sea to me tastes a lot like Sputnik with some vanilla added, if you've got that reference.

Never had Sputnik but I'll look into this Sputnik you speak of.
