Forgot that breweries don't have a constant output.

Yep, but let me add imo. It’s terrible hop juice, I’ll drink one less regular ipa than this junk if I’m watching abv. But I do understand people like it .
I’m trying to think of s SN beer that I don’t like, talk about fair pricing their beer quality vs price is very friendly.

AT 330,000 bbls and with solid rankings and ratings on all beer sites, perhaps there is something to it

We get you don't like it. Many others do hence the need for Founders to to contract brew it

I am with you brother. I am a huge fan of Founders Imperial Stout (glad it's back for 2019) but there's no way founders has anything close to SN celebration, Bigfoot or any of the seasonal Hop Packs.

Let me also add I don't like any session IPA, I'm not picking on Founders here, I've had Lawsons on tap a few years ago in Vt and was a sub 4% abv beer if I remember right, but it was so bitter to be unpleasant. There are styles of beers available that are better suited to lower abv brews, many of the English styles work, you just need enough malt to balance the hops or it's just thin, overly bitter and IMO unpleasant. Even pushing at 5% how many could one consume without pushing the .08 limit? I just prefer to drink what I like, if I'm driving I limit it to two beers, that's it. With the way I work it All Day serves no purpose for me at all, but if pushed I'd say Easy Jack would be the best of this style.

Easy Jack is easily my favorite in the style. All Day is a close second though. I usually drink them by the pool. If I'm going to be there most of the day I can drink five beers at 4% instead of four beers at 5%. I enjoy them enough that it's worth it to me for the extra beer when I'm out all day. (Ha. See what I did there...)

I'm sensitive to bitter, and IPAs are my favorite style, and let me add I dislike malty IPAs as much as hop juice. Balance for me is key and I honestly prefer the bigger Dipas to IPAs.

This does not surprise me. All Day IPA is one of the top selling IPAs in the country, and I am not surprised at all that the sheer volume needed to brew of this beer exceeded Founders' capacities.

Also, geez. I didn't know this was going to turn into an All Day hate thread. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I revisited it a few months ago. It's a lot better than remembered. Not even that thin for a session IPA, imo. I've had way worse.

I think a lot of people just don't like session ipas. It's America, the "go big or go home" mentality definitely spills over into beer in many ways. I also like big beers, but have drifted more towards the 4-6.5% range for weekday sessions and early weekend drinking.

Yeah, it's understandable. I don't care for most session IPAs myself. It's just that I think All Day IPA is one of the better ones and the last time I had it, I didn't even think it was all that watery.

Without the malt balance they tend to be thin and overly bitter, it really can't be any other way. Mouthfeel is malt, malt balances, malt adds abv I suppose. This is a polarizing style to a degree and to each their own, I probably over reached with it sucks quip, but I'm not a fan of the style.

I don't find it watery either, but I guess when people compare it to higher abv brews it would seem thin. I suppose I'd complain about high abv ipas being too thick and sticky since I don't drink many over 8% anymore for those reasons. I like ipas to feel thirst quenching.

    Not quite a 'ringing endorsement'?

I too have had Session IPAs that are more watery than All Day IPA but that doesn't really change the thin aspect, right?

    Cheers!

I promise, we get it. You don't care for the beer.

Maybe you can add a few more posts rewording why you don't care for the beer in case someone still does not understand your preference.

It is a popular beer that you don't care for. move on.

It’s hard to tell if this topic was started to share news, or if it was started to ignorantly troll Sierra Nevada. Weird way to share a link...

I'd guess on the charitable side that it was sharing news without realizing some of the limitations of written communication only.

BTW, I wanted to explicily thank you for your general participation in the forums. I can't really assess it but I think I've learned quite a lot from your comments and experience as I try to understand without having "boots on the ground." So Thanks!

Believe it or not- the Kirkland brand 'session IPA' sold in the variety packs at Costco is quite tasty and doesn't lack the body that most of this style seem to exhibit. I don't ever pick up a 6er of some session IPA, but since it was included in the mixed bucket I was 'forced' to drink it and really couldn't have been more satisfied with it, albeit the bar was set low for the style.
