I am always willing to give a beer a 2nd or even 3rd chance, but at $6 a single 12oz. bottle? F off!

Loved it. Less onion. Good hop bite. In fairiness to all it drinks a barley wine. Cheers!

    It's actually a Triple IPA.

Really? Seriously? My sarcasm detector tends not to work well after a couple cold ones. But OK, I'll bite. I would rather have any of these beers that are in the top 50 beers with the most ratings. Abrasive, Hoptimum, Ruination, Hop Stoopid, Sucks, Maximus, Brown Shugga, Hopslam, Double Trouble, Enjoy By, Unearthly, Stone 16th, Mycenary, Hop Henge. And a Triple IPA thats not in the top 50, Steel Toe Size 11.

Those are the ones I have had. I'm sure if I had the pleasure of trying a Pliny or a Heady I could add them to my list. Who knows? I might even like it this year but at that price I will like I said, pass on it this year.

All those that are listed are not Triple IPA/Double DIPA brews except Steel Toe which I agree is a solid beer.

Not trying to argue that Devil's Dancer is amazing and life changing, just sayin there aren't many Triple IPA choices. Hopin Kuhnhenn TRIPA turns out awesome for this weekend.

    Wouldn't a "Double DIPA" be a "QuIPA" ?

So I had one last night and it is very good. Definitely the most interesting beer that I have tried. Definitely drinks like a barley wine, as mentioned above. It's very hoppy with a nice alcohol burn right at the end. It is a very smoothe beer. Definitely not garlicy or oniony. This is my first time having it so I can't compare it to previous releases of it.

    A couple things:

    1) I understand that $18.99 or so price tag may seem steep to many (including myself) but at the end $5 a beer isn't that bad when you think about shelling out way more than that at a bar. At least that's what KBS and other similiar "limited" brews cost. Many people shell out $30 for a 750ml bottle from The Bruery. It all comes down to how much you're willing to pay for some damn good beer.

    2) The only reason why I keep giving Devil Dancer "9 lives" is because of how damn good it was two or three years ago. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill including this year's batch. I bought it two weeks fresh and it was nothing doing for me. It wasn't a complex beer at all - just a good mix of hops dangerously masked underneath some syrup from what it seemed to me. It was "good" at best and is it worth the $18.99 price tag I bought the four pack at? Probably not. I'd suggest to save some money and buy a six pack of All Day IPA. Cheaper and much, much easier to land IMHO.

Had it on draft at the Brickstore Pub. I thought it was excellent. Much better than last year.

Sorry, I guess I didn't catch the double double part of your post, I just caught the double. And according to Beer Advocates beer styles there is no such thing as a Triple IPA. Or at least they haven't added it yet

I am actually kindof bummed out by this year's DD. In years past it had the dank, sweaty gym socks, wild garlic smell and taste. This year all of the qualities that set it apart from Double Trouble are missing. To me, it seems Double Trouble is more oniony. Up until this year I had preferred DD over DT, not the case this year. #disappointedatotherpeoplesdelight
