I tried it on draft this past Saturday night and thought the beer was okay. I paid $6 for a six ounce pour. Pricey, but I really wanted to try it. After drinking it I didn't have another. Not comparable to HT at all.

I bought one bottle for $4. Reminded me of a lighter DFH 120. Smoother and more balanced than 120. There is a lot of hop bitterness in the Devil Dancer, but yes, lots of malty sweetness that IMO is balanced pretty well. Supposedly that beer is over 200 IBUs. I'd drink it fresh unless you really like barleywines.

Having 1 bottle was enough for me, just because I like to try almost any beer I've never tried. But for that price tag, I doubt I'll pick one up again until next year.

Now Hi-Res on the other hand... for a very similar abv at 11.1% I'm gonna buy like a case of that next year if I can get my hands on enough! .... Off topic BUT, supposedly Hi-Res is a cross of a dubbel and imperial IPA. Anyone heard of something like that?

Never heard of this below 19.99, I actually paid 24.99. Still haven't cracked one yet, but I only bought it because I'm splitting the cost with a friend. At a BA score of 88, you know its not going to be great.

4-Pack was $21.99 in NH at a reputable beer seller.

Even at $12.99, I've sold just three 4-packs in two weeks.

It's everywhere no idea on the price, I just don't like it.

You got lucky then, Brown's price is way higher than that. Someone messed up on your invoice. Even selling at 18 bucks would be a very narrow price margin, I'd expect 20-22 to be the standard in Florida based on their sticker.

    I will double-check the situation...

Stone Double Dry-Hopped Old Guardian > Stone Old Guardian > SN Bigfoot. IMO, of course. Not too far off, but Bigfoot has a richer/bigger malt base and body, and while it is pretty hoppy lacks a lot of the juicy dry hop flavors. Only one way to find out for yourself..

Odd how your rankings did not actually include the topic of the thread - as in, does SN Bigfoot compare to Founders DD? Based on the replies thus far, however, I think I'm going to pass on the $23 4-pk price for Devil Dancer.

I picked up a 4 pack for $18.99 and I was disappointed. I first had it about 4 years ago and thought it was fantastic, but each year since has been less enjoyable and the price seems to go up about a buck every year. This may be my last purchase of Devil Dancer... maybe.

One of the worst (craft) beers I've had. Like drinking a chainsaw.

Been sitting behind the counter for a week now, definitely not moving fast at 20 bucks a 4 pack. I mean, BCBS is that price. I asked my friends if this beer is BCBS quality and worth the money, answer was a resounding no.

I actually mixed about 2 oz. of Hoptimum with 8 oz. of Burton Baton last week and it seemed pretty darn close to the Devil Dancer I had the previous day. So there you go, mix your own and save some cash. I'm fan of the Devil Dancer, but for the price ($20+ everywhere I've seen it) I'll grab an occasional single and pass on the 4 pack.

It doesn't really sound like something I'd like to try, and at $18 for 4, the price makes it prohibitive as well.

$ 20.99/case? or 4-pack? If case, tell me where!

Just had one last night and yes, much different than years past. It is one of the few beers that changes every year. It never stops me from trying it though.

So what's the final verdict on this beer, is it worth me begging one of our reps to give us a case of it?
