Founders Distribution in MD

After the article from beerpulse last year, I contacted founders directly to see if I could verify it. Sorry, it was just a rumor, and unfortunately they were mistaken. Founders indicated that they hope to expand into Maryland at some point (they indicated it was on their radar), but the impression I had was that it would not be happening any time soon.

Founders coming into Md. would, obviously, be very big news. Retial stores and better beer bars would undoubtedly hold "founders release" events all over the state, especially in Baltimore. More than likely, either Max's or Alewife would hold a huge release party. To the best of my knowledge, neither location is planning a founders release event in the next couple of weeks. You can draw you're own inferences from that I think.

 

Yeah I know. The worst part is, it seems like I have to repost this every three or four months.

 

Yes, I was complete shocked when I saw the latest bottle list for the upcoming Belgian fest at Max's. According to the list, they'll have bottles of the 4, 5, 6 and 7 available for purchase during the festival. Upright beers aren't all that easy to find even in the NW (you can find their stuff easily enough in Portland, but I rarely see their stuff in NoCal or even Seattle), so I was completely blown away at the thought they might become available in Maryland. I love their saisons and some of their sours, and the pilsner they make is one of very best domestic pils I've ever had. It would give even the Victory braumester pils a run for their money.

 

Yes (you beat me to the punch with a response..:-). The latest email from Casey included an updated bottle list, which included the Upright beers. I literally couldn't believe my eyes.

Also, yes, the 4, 5, 6 and 7 are year round releases, and are beers they make the most of. It's still not a huge amount however, which is why I was so shocked when I saw them on the beer bottle list.
