Haven't seen a thread on this yet, but I was at the store yesterday and while checking out, saw 4pks of Double Trouble behind the counter. I asked the cashier about them and he said they had just gotten them in today. I picked up a 4pk (bottled 6/12/15) and enjoyed one last night. It seemed slightly more boozy than I remember from previous years, but goddamn if it isn't my favorite hoppy offering from Founders.

My 4 pack was dated in May somehow...either way, I'm not huge on this beer. It's well-made, but it falls into the "bitter for the sake of bitter" camp of DIPAs like The Oracle and Palate Wrecker. I guess I value balance a little more than I thought being a huge hoppy beer fan.

Enjoyed my 4 pack last year but didn't pick it up this year. May date for me as well. If it was fresher, I might've gone for it.
I found this nicely balanced- some sweetness and some bitterness. It's not even close to the bitterness of Palate Wrecker or Ruination.

I hate that they moved the release date for this back, IIRC it used to be a few months earlier. High ABV beers don't really appeal to me when it's hot outside.

That's not coming back, though, right? They just did that for Artprize, I think.

It was on tap at Founders a few weeks ago. I should have asked the bartender when it was kegged, but I trust my palate enough to say that it was fresh and not from the artprize batch.

edit: but yes, the only bottles I've seen were from artprize last year.

Yeah I am not too sure on that. I am in PA and I think it was only around GR. I met a guy at Black Party in 2014 who sent me a couple for some Head Hunter. I hope it gets brewed again, It is incredible. I am just a huge fan of anything mosaic to be honest.

Am I wrong in being surpised that double trouble is out?
This is one of-if not my favorite-double ipa. I just didnt think it was supposed to be out yet.

Their 2015 Release Calendar says July-September, but I picked it up last night. Sounds like other found some May bottlings too.

    YES!
Excellent brew, just crushes Devil Dancer, both in balance, and price.

I love how this beer hit everywhere else in the state except Louisville this week.

It is in NY, my 4pack was bottled end of May it said

I thought it was little more boozy then I remembered too. And not quite the great hop smell, but I have a cold so my sense is little off there unfortunately

You might be pleased to know that the upcoming Backstage release "ReDANKulous" is an imperial red featuring Chinook, Mosaic, and Simcoe

I saw that. While it does sound good and I will absolutely try it. It is still disappointing for a Backstage release in my opinion.

I got some at Whole Foods on Shelbyville on Tuesday, so it's trickling in. It's been a weird couple weeks, though, for beer in Louisville, not a lot new coming in seemingly. Wonder if something's amiss with the distributors.
