Picked up a single of Dark Penance last week, just cracked it open, its very tasty, Im a fan of ipas and Ris, this is one of the better ones Ive tasted, not overwhelming and smooth, resin aftertaste sticks for a minute.

Old raspuitin is a good starter russian imperial stout(ris), comes in a four pack. Stone is good also, founders ris is pretty good. Dark Horse has one also its pretty bold, huge flavor profile, a sipper, I cant remember the Name I think its dark truth.

May I suggest Bell's Java Stout, which is out now. 7.50 ABV & comes in 6's. I lke it. Bell's Expedition Stout at 10.50 comes in 6's and is a great sipper and it will age for years if kept gently. Both are annual releases and out now.

Stone RIS is actually pretty good for the price but I prefer Stone Espresso Russian Imperial Stout and
I have to agree with you on the whole Old Rasputin recommendation but I believe Dark Truth is actually Boulevard Brewing. While Dark Truth is a great imperial stout, it uses belgian yeast unlike most russian imperial stouts. I definitely recommend Stone Russian Imperial. Great beer especially for the price.

I've had Founders Breakfast Stout and Backwoods Bastard, I love FBS and I am hoping to score some Kentucky Breakfast Stout next year when it is released. I've said this before, I would move to Michigan for Founders and Bells.

Just tried dark penance for the first time last night and loved it. My favorite black ipa I've had so far. I really have not had anything by founders that I have not enjoyed though. I was surprised by how much I liked mosaic promise- really great at a great price. I could drink that one all day.
BWB is one of my all-time favorites and I'm drinking a FBS right now.

Founders Imperial Stout, Smuttynose robust porter, 3floyds alpha klaus, Bells expedition stout, Bells Porter, Sierra Nevada Narwahl, Stone Coffee Milk Stout, Bells Kalamazoo Stout, Left Hand Nitro (milk stout), triton deadeye stout, and if u want high abv, anything Clown Shoes should work. They will be bombers tho. Just try them all and they don't have to be piss warm, but remember being ice cold won't quite do the beer justice.

Anyone know if any Canadian Breakfast Stout is making it down to Florida, preferably in the Orlando area?

Is there any way I can score some Founders Breakfast Stout this early/late in the release schedule? I'm going out east next month and have heard great things about it. Here's to hoping I can try it sometime!

Oh yeah, I mean some stores may not have, but I see it every so often in other stores. Are you coming to Michigan? I may be able to help.

Unfortunately, no :slight_frown: I'm heading to NYC but I figured I'd give it a shot. Saw that their website release schedule says Oct-Dec.

Damn! Yeah, I can't speak on NYC. I am sure it is a bit more difficult there. I have seen stores here with cases of it left, but many of them don't have anymore left. By January, it kinda trickles out...

If I had a little extra money, I would just ship you some. I have about 20 of them.

A lot of places in NJ have it for sale at close out prices so they can get more KBS. I still see a lot around here.

It seems like it's still available, but you'd have to search for it. That's awesome! Yeah I hope I can get some. We don't get any founders in CA (at least that I know of) and I've been searching for a solid stout that's not BA'd. Hope I find it!

It's so plentiful in New York City that there are cases of it lying around on the street for the bums to pick up.

So plentiful that it's being sent out to California to relieve our drought.
