Founders Fest 2013

Last year was a blast, great music and had most of the backstage stuff on tap (no cbs). Street performers were decent also my wife andI will defiantly be there again this year.

 

Hopefully they fix the issue with having to wait 30-45 minutes to get a specialty tap, and the large amount of line jumping that took place as a result of people jumping over from the 'regular' tap line to the specialty tap line.

I haven't been to this before, really wanted to go last year, but it didn't happen. I've been waiting to see what the music lineup was going to be, now that G Love and Dumpstaphunk are going to be there I should to!

 

Said the exact same thing. As soon as I saw G Love and Dumpstaphunk I put Founders Fest in my calendar

 

Ill prob go, looks like a great time.

 

Ya I had a good time last year but that speciality beer line made me want to shoot myself.

 

I may be driving through the area on this day, I presume they don't sell any special bottles at the event? I don't have the time or ability to stop and get boozed up unfortunately.

 

If it is going to be like years past, taproom closed and no special releases. They close down the street in front of the brewery and that is where the event takes place.

 

Did tickets online sell out last year?

 

So what kind of music is that?

I went 2 years ago, great time, but really depends on the weather. This isn't about drinking specialty ultra rare beer, it is about drinking great beer, listening to music, and enjoying the summer.

 

G Love is bluesy but more upbeat and Dumpstaphunk is funk you're gonna dance to. I've seen Dumpstaphunk a few times and had a lot of fun. Saw G Love for the first time here in Chicago last year at Chipotle's Cultivate Fest in Lincoln Park (Founders was there).

I'd check them out on youtube or Spotify if you have time

 

No, I can't speak for anything further back than 3 years ago, but for the last 3 years there have been tickets remaining at the gate on Fest day.

 

Anyone gonna be able to give tap updates for this? I need to live vicariously.

 

Gonna miss it this year. Have family in town. Bummer. Was hopin to meet some craft beer drinkin ladies

is anyone doing any bottle sharing outside of the event ? wouldn't mind getting together with some BA's to drink some bottles

 

In general, this isn't an event like that. At least not that I've seen in the past.

 

bummed i couldn't make it.. the music alone is enough to satisfy me.
