I'm here, chillin' in the shade. All Day IPA and Wheat tasting great. Good times in Beer City USA.

Founders Fest has a disappointing taplist? Huge surprise.

My wife and I just left after 3 hours. We're lame, too hot, tired from our twin 1 year old boys and just starting to get colds. Tap list was just okay but even if there was special beers it was too freaking hot to enjoy anything. The casks were at 70 degrees for god sakes!

Not disappointing at all, exactly what i expected. Backwoods, doom, boltcutter, ba honey porter and kbs for about five hours straight kept me more than content. The awesome bands were a bonus with the perfect weather.

Every year people complain about the taplist. And every year it is still a killer event.

BA Honey Porter and BA Honey Stuff were different right? Did anyone get confirmation of what Honey Stuff was? BA Honey Wheat? It tasted way more sweeter to me.

Honey stuff was barrel aged honey wheat with extra honey added to the barrel

I don't know how you ever got to hear the bands. They tuck away the specialty line in the back corner near the porto's, make you wait 45 minutes in the blistering sun, just for the chance to try....wait for it.....Bolt Cutter?

That taplist was a disgrace. Had I known they'd never update it, I would have just got a FF Wheat or All Day IPA and actually camped near the bands.

Would it really kill Founders to put a couple of kegs of a beer that people are actually excited about on? Heck, I would have even been happy with a pour of the new Mango Habenero.

    FAIL

I don't even know why I click on these Founder's threads anymore...
Sounds like it was a great event, yet people expect a fountain pissing CBS over their heads, or their disappointed. I'm glad that SOME of you enjoyed yourselves and aren't being sally's about it.

I thought it was a great time, as well...I can't even imagine the mess I would be if I spent 8 hours in the hot sun drinking anything heavy. I personally don't want to spend my entire day waiting in line for a beer... wait 30 seconds to grab an all day ipa, then go mingle and listen to music! I was more than happy with fest wheat, red's rye, and rübæus and thought the music lineup was spectacular. Founders Fest is definitely a staple summer event for me, but will probably continue to disappoint the specialty/rarer beer seekers.

The only beer I drank that day came from the specialty line and not once did I wait longer than 25 minutes and after 6 it was more like 10 minutes max. They ended up have 9 different beers total in the specialty line with only 6 on at a time so there were changes. Not to mention the fact that you could read the board before you got in line so why would you wait "45 minutes" for boltcutter if you didn't want it. Founders Fest was great again this year, not much different than last. Oh and Roster Mccabe was AWESOME!!!
