Why are the tickets double the price of black party? The only logical reason is the music but if you are anything like me, I couldnt care less about the music and the beer was not anything special. Black party is so much better.

Had a great time last year. Gonna try and make it again. KBS keg kicked on my buddy who had never had it...panther cub then proceeded to melt our faces.

Grand Rapids Red Roof Inn FTW!

Yea $20 isn't bad for the early bird price, I think I paid $31 to see Lettuce last December at the Concord. With that said, I'll be there. Northerly Island WSP > Founders Fest weekend

Last time I attended FF was in 2012 and I can't remember if you were given drink tickets with the admission ticket. After reading the website, it doesn't mention anything in that regard. Anyone know?

I really like the festival. Good bands, good music, good friends for me so the 20 dollar charge is more than optimal. What was last years price, and I do wish they had Lindsay Lou. :slight_frown:

No drink tickets with admission if it's the same as the past few years. I also agree that $20 is incredibly reasonable for admission to one of my favorite events of the summer. Cheers!

I do believe the price is the same as it was last year...seems like I paid 22-ish dollars after the eventbrite fees?

It seems like every year after the fest is over, I find myself wishing/praying/hoping they bring back some of the same acts the following year, but they never do and I always end up being super pleased with the new year's line-up. Every year I'm convinced it couldn't be better, then the following year I'm always proven wrong (and glad for it!). I think Founders does a consistently excellent job lining up the acts. BUT I also wouldn't be mad to see Lindsay Lou  Cheers!

They still have to pay for the bands even if you could care less. It is what it is, regardless of what you want it to be.

Also, I would guess that FFest is a more expensive event to put on than Black Party even outside of paying the bands, with rental of portajohns, tents, closing the streets, etc.. Black Party you just pay to come into the brewery, which functions as it would on any normal day but with the featured beers. And you get a glass. That's not to say that Black Party isn't awesome. Because it certainly is. Cheers!

Jesus Christ, if you like Black Party better, then go to Black Party and not this. FFest is much more of a general interest type of day of good weather & music in the summertime. It's not a beer fest, as such, nor does it need to be just because you want it to be. It's ok that some events actually appeal to non-beer obsessive types.

Sometimes this site forgets that there are A LOT of craft drinkers that aren't craft GEEKS.

This site like to think that we are the majority and should be catered to. It is too bad we do not realize we are just the vocal minority, a very small piece of the craft brewery customer base. Its too bad we forget about this, this perspective would come in handy an awful lot.

With that said, I love what Founders does with Founders Fest. They have been pulling some great acts in recent years and $20 is a heck of a deal. Bell's will bring in a steady stream of big name acts, similar to those one may see at Founders Fest, I pay $20 for a ticket without thinking about it. Another situation where perspective is key, appropriate comparisons would indicate this is a hell of a deal.

This event sounds perfect, music from a variety of genres and good brew....what could be better?

It looks like tickets go on sale today. Is this an event that sells out quickly? I'd love to go.
