Founders Finally Coming to MD

Didnt I read Founders is going to Norway or somewhere in Europe soon? My map shows MD a lot closer-just saying...

 

I fell for hoping they would be here in time for KBS. Im ashamed.

I think this points to the fact that Founders is just the best at April Fools' Day. Good one guys! Another year, another round of Founders Frustration (what I will be calling these yearly claims all around this time that they are coming to MD).

 

For what it's worth they were listed in this month's Maryland Beverage Journal which would seem to indicate if the advertisement is there they must be on the way, then again, we've all heard this before, again and again and again.

 

Im pretty sure they just hate everything maryland. I ordered the lip balm 3 weeks ago and nothing yet. Coincidence? I think not!

 

Add Arizona to that map now.

 

Asked about an update on their Facebook page. This was the response:

"Founders Brewing Co.- No updates at this point. We're still working on it. Should happen soon. Stay tuned!"

Gah, just tell me when and promise it!

 

Not that it matters what they say anymore, but someone asked about MD on their twitter announcement of new AZ distro and they replied it would be this year. That won't bring any more comfort come December when we're still hearing rumors.

 

And the fact that even though we might get them this year, they probably won't be bringing around any KBS, like I was hoping of having a chance at getting this year. But I can't complain, a friend gave me a 2012 KBS that I have squirreled away. As long as I get some Rubaeus though, I'll be good.

 

If they do eventually come to MD, I'm sure they will have saved some KBS. At least for a tap takeover at Max's or something.

 

I was told directly from Founder's on twitter that Maryland will happen this year. Fool me once...

 

What happened to this? Does anyone know if Founders is still trying to come here or did they give up?

 

I cant tell you if they have given up, but I know that I have given up...

 

Groundhog Day

 

A few weeks ago they Founders responded to someone on Twitter who asked when they'd be coming to Maryland. Their response was that they didn't have any plans to expand anywhere until their brewery expansion project is complete next year. They said they would look into new markets in 2015 and that Maryland would be a consideration. At this point, I am have just resigned myself to the fact that I'm lucky that at least I can make an hour and a half drive to PA or DC/VA to get Founders beer. It just sucks that with Harford Co finally making growler fills legal, there could be so much epic Founders stuff for growler fills if they had made it to MD earlier this year as originally planned. Definitely frustrating!
