    * Sorry for the spelling error, finally!

I stopped by the Consumers on Transit (East Amherst) and talked to their Beer Manager for a bit. On Monday (7/9/12) Founders will officially be in Buffalo. We will see a handful of offerings on draft and in bottles. Here is what is landing:

    Porter
    Dirty Bastard
    Centennial IPA
    Red's Rye
    Cerise

He was unsure if we will be getting of their limited/seasonal stuff (KBS, BS, Backwoods, etc.) but he has high hopes for those future allocations.

As such, I wouldn't be surprised to see Premier and VBM getting Founders beers around the same time! Cheers!

Good to know, now I can bring other brands back from MI and grab my Red's Rye on a quick NF trip.

Wegmans beer search site is showing Red's Rye and the Pale Ale in select stores and about 7 varieties of Bell's.

    Seen any there?

Not in NY state...maybe in some of their other east coast stores but not here.

I'm predicting my fridge full of Founders to make up for lost time

If we were able to get KBS or BS I would cry tears of joy.

I spoke to Ethan at Premier and he said that we are getting all of their common beers except All Day IPA (of course, its one of the few common beers of Founders that I havent tried yet). As for the speciality releases, highly unlikely.

Damn! All-Day-IPA is amazing. That's all I would drink if it were in Buffalo.

It was said that Buffalo has to prove that the beer will sell in this market before they release any seasonal or specialty beers here. Once they realize that the beer will sell here, it will only be a matter of time

So we have to bribe consumers or make them think it's a macro subsidiary or pseudo craft....

I know I'll be buying plenty but it would be nice to see something other than pyramid for growler fills...

    F**KING TRADER!!!

You spent all winter long drinking all of our good beers just to run back to Syracuse and tell us about these 'other' great beers that we will never try. How Dare You, Sir! And to think I allowed you to barf on my curb and pass out on my couch...and this is how you thank us Buffalo BAs for our kind hospitality.

May J.Ryans have a Pyramid/Stevens Point takeover night on a night you go there.

Yeap. Founders made it to Rochester about a month and a half ago. The 5 listed in the first post above. Frangelic Mountain Brown came in on Tuesday as well (I paid $13 so :stuck_out_tongue:). I've heard rumor that we'll get Devil Dancer as well.

Where in Rochester is FMB? Is there some still available? I might have to make the drive.

Came in last tuesday. Not sure if its still around, but both Hegedorns in Webster and Nathaniel Square on South ave had it (they also tend to be the two cheapest shops). I don't know whether Beers of the World got it in or not - they tend to be the last place I look because of their prices.

I would love to see a few bottles of FMB make it out to Buffalo, but who knows if that will actually happen.

Looks like Consumers in NF has Founders, may hit there this weekend.

Which leads into my next question. Coming from Canada for the day I am quite happy to hit Tops or Wegmans for some brands I havent had before. Are all Tops and Wegmans pretty much the same or are some better than others. This includes the Buffalo area.

I pretty much go to the Wegmans on Military in NF, although with Consumers right there.....

Haven't been in a Tops in a while but doubt much has changed so just avoid them. Best bet is to just make the drive down to Premier Gourmet (new location if you've been in the past) and while it's not up to its former self just yet it's still the best option in the area. Village Beer Merchant seems to have less and less beer everytime I go in.
And as with all beer stores watch for out of date beer, both Consumer's and Wegmans have very old beers available to the unknowing.
