I was told a few months ago (I think right around the time Founders started in Iowa) that we wouldn't be getting any of the special releases for a while. I've asked around and haven't got any positive responses and never heard back from Johns Grocery (which would be the most likely spot to get it). I suppose just have to hope Iowa gets the next Backstage release. I'm curious to know if there is any Devil Dancer in the area yet though.
It's coming on the next Founders truck, I was told. Our rep here is out all week though. More info to come.
Where is this truck heading? I've talked with Brent over at the Council Bluffs Hyvee and he says he's got no idea if they'll see it or not.
I have no idea what stores will be getting any. It was hinted to me that Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City would be getting some though. Who gets what though, who knows. A very small amount is all I expect to see hit this half of the state.
I'm guessing Dirty Johns in Iowa City would be a likely destination (much more so then any of the Hy-vees), Beer Crazy in the Des Moines area maybe??? I don't know of any other specialty shops around Des Moines, and I'm not familiar with the bottle shops in CR so I won't even know where to guess there. I'm curious when this will be coming then, next week probably? (I kind of figured if we didn't get it the first week we probably wouldn't get it). I'd assume Devil Dancer will be coming at the same time. Good to hear we will see some though.
I'm in agreement with RPS, I wouldn't expect the Hy-Vees to be the best place to track down very limited beers. I've never been to the Council Bluffs one though, so, you never know.
Beer crazy had it Tuesday. They just put it on the shelf and hour before I walked in to get grains. They had like 24 bombers. I think they were $15 a pop.
Was at John's Grocery in IC and Beer Crazy in Urbandale today (finished moving out of IC and moving into Marshalltown). John's didn't have any of FMB or Devil Dancer, couldn't find anyone to ask about it but couldn't stay long. Beer Crazy did have quite a bit (upwards of 15 or 20 bottles) and pretty good price too ($11.50 I believe), picked up a couple. They also had Devil Dancer but that was a little pricey (like $18 a 4pack) but did grab some of that. I'd imagine John's should have some in the next week if they are getting any (same with CR).
