Last year I traded for two bottles, one that was consumed then and one that was just consumed the other day. The latest bottle tasted quite good and though some of the nutty flavor was muted, overall it was creamier and still holds up.

Considering this isn't barrell-aged, I was surprised it held up as well as it did. Has anyone else had one recently? Has it fallen off badly or has anyone had one that aged well as mine did? Mine were left in a temp-controlled cooler until consumed.

I'd be interested in getting more if the general experience is that they are holding up. It just so happens to be one of the wife's fav's as well. What would one expect they would trade for at this time?

I had one a few months ago, and seemed to aged fine. I dug it, but I also didn't mind the original.

Agreed that the fresher the better. And actually a bit surprised it is still as good as it is.

I had one a few months back. Tasted great! I was at a Whole Foods once and saw it on an employee's cart. Asked the employee if I could buy it. He toldme it was old and they were getting rid of it. You then told me that if it scanned on computer, I could buy it. Long story short, I couldn't buy it and I was pissed

Just had one a week ago and it tasted FANTASTIC. Hazelnut was still very prominent and it was smooth going down. I enjoyed it so much, I traded for one my buddy had sitting in his cellar.

I thought it mellowed with age and although the hazelnut was still there, the carbonation was awesome and taste was better than fresh FMB in my opinion. Founders had a keg of this on tap maybe a month ago as well at the pub, kinda saying that MAYBE it tasted pretty good with some age on it...(or they found a keg tucked away in the back)

    good stuff though!

Age did not diminish the gross artificial sweetener flavor unfortunately, so the year-old bottle was a drainpour just like the freshie. I'm expecting #3 will have a similar fate.
