It's a legitimate issue. Have you notified Founders of this on-going problem? They may not be aware of how it is effecting customers.

I haven't yet. I was asking if anyone has had a problem before certain idiots chimmed in.

Sorry I dont have any info to share. We dont get Founders here. But regardless, let the company know. They deserve to know how their product is affecting its consumers. Maybe they will make it up for you. Cheers!

    BA humble brag. You gotta.

Yeah, I would possibly think it's poor handling of the bottles and you were just unlucky. Or maybe the company that Founders contracts has been sending them bad bottles. I would notify Founders. Hope this gets fixed for you. Sucks to have $15-20 go down the drain.

I know right? It's hard living in Cali with our mediocre brewers like Drakes, RR, Stone, Bruery, Lagunitas, Bear Republic, Firestone Walker, Lost Abbey. Please take pity on me.

Seriously though, I don't know what I'm missing, other than world class brews. They have awesome labels too!

I wish I had access to some of the breweries you mention...add to that, Hair of the Dog. If only all these brewers had a national footprint. *sigh*

This same thing happened to my friend with a dark lord, just exploded out the bottom for no reason and no temperature change.

Yes. A bottle of All Day IPA was really warped - but no explosion...I save all my bottles for my homebrew, but after reading your post, this one is going in the recycle bin for sure.

These obviously are not Class 3 bottles

The bottom of a 1L swingtop bottle blew out on me yesterday. The weird thing was the bottle wasn't under pressure. It had water in it and it blew out several hours after I filled it.

I doubt that Founders is the only brewery who sources their bottles from the suspect manufacturer. That does suck that you lost a $$ Doom. Not the first time this type of report has been broadcast. Bottles of Hair of the Dog 'Adam' have had issues with bottles separating as well.

Did you contact Founders about this problem, or head straight to a public forum and gripe? It's like finding a dead body and calling the news instead of the police.

This could be a packaging and / or a UPS problem.

How do you know it wasn't damaged in transit?

    Edit: see above post

Just heard from Founders: The glass has been weakened due to the brewery burning down several times over the last few months.

You know Founders ships millions of these things a year, right? That they get filled in the multiple cases per minute range? There is literally no way Founders can ensure there are no faults in every bottle they fill. The best-case scenario (which would be a really bad thing, but you know) would be that the filler kept blowing up bottles from the same manufacturing run at the rate that Founders didn't trust any of the bottles. But if the production run is normal, and nothing breaks at the brewery, how on earth are they supposed to know?

Why aren't you blaming whoever shipped you those for packing it poorly? It could be their fault more than Founders, right? Why the thread bashing the brewer when whatever happened most definitely happened after the beer left their control?

Checking every bottle like you apparently do however many guitars you ship would mean you could get your Doom unbroken, but it'd cost you more than you'd want to pay.
