I am very disappointed with this years Harvest. Especially given the effort it took to attain it. Am I alone here?

Don't know if you're alone, but i thought it was great...fresh, floral aroma and taste...then again, it was my first bottle ever. I don't have past years to compare it to. Are your notes that precise that you remember past years, or has your pallet changed a little. C'mon. It's a good beer. Just enjoy it.

You are not alone. I think this years is good, but I thought last years was outstanding.

My palate is that precise, sir. And when you drink it next year, I truly hope you will be able to remember if it was better, worse, or at least how it differed from last years. And who said I didnt enjoy it? Slow down with the advice, chief.

I had my first Founders Harvest Ale last week and think it is very good. Worth the effort to hunt for? probably not.
In terms of wet hopped beers I'm beginning to believe they are all a little over-hyped. I loved Surly Wet last year, but was not a big fan of this years or Indeed's Fresh Hop. Decent beers, but Furious and Day Tripper kick their asses.

All of my bottles in OH are dated 10/14/2012. If that helps in any way...

Last years was great (better than Wet) and pretty darn obtainable. This year not so much.

Bought a sixer of Upland's Harvest Ale on the way through Indiana last week. Solid offering and maybe better than this years Founders as well.

I've found noticeable differences in the bottles dated 10/4 & 10/14...been drinking these exclusively lately and the 10/14's are much better. Not sure of the cause (age, wet hop process, etc.) but I can attest that the 10/14's are dank. The 10/4's have a flatter overall taste - still good IMO. I've had this twice on tap and in Mid-October it delivered and by this past friday it was similar to the 10/4 taste I mentioned above.

Looks like its 50/50 and batch dependent. Still enjoyable!

Finally arrived in Iowa City. Very balanced hops, minimal astringency, and a very clean malt profile. It's almost a month old at this point though, drink up.
