Went to Loadingdock in Milford today for the first time and picked up a 4pk of Harvest Ale, just waiting to put a little chill on it before I open one up.

While there I decided to pick up a couple of bottles of the SN Northern Harvest Ale and lucky enough to pick up what appeared to be the last 4 Pack of Ghandi-Bot.

Should be a good week

Just grabbed two four packs from Nikkis Liquors. They have about four cases worth.

I also grabbed a four pack of Devil Dancer that was laying around.

Part of me thinks that Founders just can't win. They can only boost production of so many beers to meet the demands of the masses. Just read that we can expect small amounts of Backwoods Bastard this year too. At least they seemed to be able to get a lot more FBS on shelves this year. I'm glad that we have regular access to their standard line-up because they are excellent beers, but the downside of that is that there is only so much of their limited stuff to spread across their wide footprint.

I lucked out and found two four packs of this from a small store in Boston. If it wasn't for my luck, I probably wouldn't have found any this year. Was also able to have it on draft on a trip back to WI/MN this past weekend, but it was not on the shelves of the half-dozen of stores I went to along the I94 corridor between Madison and the Cities.

The silver lining is that there are so so so many good local brews that are in MA to console me if I can't find these near-nationally distributed favorites. Fresh Hoponious, Stowaway, High Tide offerings, and dozens of others leave us all with an embarrassment of riches.

For starters Founders could stop expanding at will, into these new markets at the expense of solid ones that have supported them for years. Getting more beer to the masses and all that happy horseshit is all well and good but not when it ends up costing those that have contributed to their success, access to their product. Yes craft beer popularity is exploding at an extraordinary rate but that doesn't mean you have to saturate new distribution areas with limited offerings while spreading them thinly in others. I know this has been beaten to death and if I sound butthurt it's because I am...

Amity got a case. There were 2 or 3 four-packs left about 30 minutes ago, but they're going for an annoying $15.99 apiece. Same price for Backwoods Bastard; there were 4 of those left.
