Has anyone seen any more Founders Imperial Stout left in the Chicago
    North west suburbs?

There is some in Palatine, strip mall on the corner of Northwest Hwy and Quentin Rds. I think its called Mr A's or something like that. Doesn't look like much from the front but they had Bramble, Juliet, Lolita and get Half Acre as well. They do have the Imperial stout in the cooler though.

Two 4-packs left at Wine Discount Center in Barrington. As an added bonus, they have at least one 4 pack left of FBS as of Thursday night.

Couldn't believe it when I saw it in the cooler, had to get one. Not a huge selection, but also had BB Shipwreck Porter and Three Floyds Rabid Rabbit. Not a bad trip indeed!

    Thanks for all the tips.
Still looking a four pack on the shelf. I am going to cellar it so I don't want it chilled.
If anyone finds any hit me up.
    Cheers

FWIW, the cooler wasn't very cold. Don't know if a 10-20 degree difference to the cellar will necessarily hurt the beer.

I don't think taking it from the cooler to your cellar should make any difference, in terms of cellaring long term. That stuff is so good you should just get it no matter what. I've got a few bottles tucked away to last till next year, too.

Anyone come across any Founders Impy in the West/Southwest Suburbs? Also, United Liquors in New Lenox had 2 four packs of Cerise as of last week when I was last there, as well as a bunch of Flying Dog Barrel Aged Gonzo.

don't mean to thread crap, just wanted to post my two cents. i had the imperial stout at Marias a few months ago. i wasn't impressed at all, actually, i didn't like it. it was on tap. it's probably the only founders i don't like. :slight_frown:

Well, it's one of my favorite imperial stouts. So that said, our opinions cancel each other out. Good luck on your hunt, OP!

This happened to me with both Founders Breakfast and Founders Imperial. First time I had em I didn't care for them. Second time they entirely hit the spot.

I was just at Founders on Saturday and they had quite a few 4 packs in the cooler. If anybody's interested, send me a message and I can pick some up and we can set up a trade.

    Cheers
    Dave

The temperature doesn't matter in this case. This is still the biggest myth when it comes to beer that if cold/cool beer warms that it is in someway harmed. It can be stored in a cooler, be warmed to room temperature, and then cellared, and it isn't going to matter. It won't affect the beer. I just picked up the last 4 pack of Founders Imperial Stout and the last two 4 packs of FBS in a store that obviously doesn't receive much craft beer traffic. All of the brews were in the cooler, are now are at room temperature, and all will be cellared in a day or two. It won't affect them especially considering the cooler was not cold enough to induce "chill haze" which won't affect the flavor anyhow.
