I should have learned by now not to rely only on BA for the arrival of certain beer. Stupid me. Any Founders Imperial Stout sightings in DC Metro/NOVA? I called Total Wine Mclean and they said it's come and gone for the year. Strange that they won't be getting any more shipments of a beer that is listed on Founders website for being available for 3 months.

Sterling Total Wine said they had some earlier today with a one 4 pack limit. I trekked over to VA a couple of hours ago and bought the last of it from The Lost Dog Cafe in McLean. Maybe their other locations still have some.

WF Vienna still hasn't got theirs yet. They said hopefully next week. Lost Dog Dunn Loring had a couple 4 packs left in the fridge when I stopped by yesterday during lunch.

I've stopped into Chevy Chase, Magruder's and Rodmans with no luck. Magruder's said it was an allotment and with their normal contact on vacation, they forgot to put in a request. Whoever was covering didn't give them the heads up that it was available. After the holidays, nothing available. I'll keep checking because they seem to get stuff that trickles in.
Missed it last year, so I hope I stumble across it at some point.

Do they make significantly less imperial stout than Double Trouble or Curmudgeon? DT and Curmudgeon sit on shelves for months and are usually stacked by the case on floors of stores. Imperial stout seems to have come and gone before a thread was even started (well played BA's  ). I slacked on this one because I didn't realize I needed to be so aggressive. Lesson learned. Chase trucks for Imp. Stout.

I never could have imagined the day that Founder Imperial Stout disappeared 20 times faster than Bourbon County.

my local stores are swimming with Founders Imperial Stout. haven't seen a single bottle of BCBS all year, though.

If Rodman's has it now, it might be worth checking Magruders too. Might have to ask.

Does DC typically get multiple shipments throughout the year? I foolishly only bought two 4-packs when it first arrived, and would love to get more.

Magruders has it now - seems to be WAY more FIS available this year than last year

Call the place on P Street across from Pizza Paradiso. I forget what it's called....Dupont Wine, I think? Pretty sure I saw it there yesterday.

No, don't call them, and don't acknowledge their existence.

1 West Dupont Wine & Liquors? Next to Subway?

Starrdogg is this your hotspot or a place to avoid due to epic suck?

Ha, it's a place I hate with a passion. They are the kings of marking up prices on harder-to-get beers (which is why they always have them), and it's been going on as long as I can remember. I refuse to shop there and I encourage others not to either.

When I lived on Q street and ventured over there I remember seeing that their prices were crap. Too bad it hasn't changed.

I wonder if they're under the same management as that Blarney place on L St. They have the exact same prices on some of their out of market beers.

This is absolutely spot-on advice. I hate this place as well. Connecticut Ave. Wine and Spirits, just north of the Circle by Kramers, is much, much better, though the selection is more limited. HOWEVER, they have a $9.99 special on Firestone Walker Union Jack sixers...THAT is clutch.
