And the thing is that we just have so many options at price point of these beers or lower that it is almost an impossible market to break into unless you come in at a loss for a significant period of time. You just named 2 beers, and we already have another 100 or so that are right there as well. As good as FBS is, I would still probably grab a 4 pack of Black House more often than I would a 4 pack of FBS. The price point is just better, and I don't think FBS is that much better. And there are more options than just Black House as well.

In terms of DIPAs, we have more than enough in 500ml or less format. And very cheap options at that. And add in there are several cheapish bomber options as well. Personally, I would grab a bomber of Hammerland over almost any 4 pack. Hammerland would probably run 3/4 of the price too. The options in DIPA are so abundant and the prices are pretty wide ranging, that I honestly think people will give Founders a try, then go back to their local favorites. That is exactly what happened to Bells and I am honestly scared to buy anything Bells, because it sits there and doesn't look like it has moved in months.

I'm a huge fan of 4-packs and sixers, especially of big beers. We have a few affordable options available to us, but the vast majority of what gets packaged by California breweries get the bomber/750 treatment. can't wait for their imp stout, porter, fbs, and other seasonals.

Having moved here a year ago from Texas where they had Founders distribution, Breakfast Stout, KBS, Backwoods Bastard, and even the regular Imperial Stout will all be welcome additions. Especially Breakfast Stout, I love that beer.

I love the logic of founders in California but will KBS,BB,and breakfast stout ever see the shelves? I Highly doubt it,but I'd love to try it it because I've never had it but it seems like the more stores I go to they keep Everything locked up in the back

This thread makes me simultaneously happy and sad. Moving to SoCal and love to see Founders coming out west too but it sounds like I'm going to have an even harder time grabbing KBS than in MSP where I had to drive all over the cities to get a chance at single bottle limits...

I like to keep things positive. Until I hear that is not the case, I will look forward to the limited releases especially if they want to keep the year round beers selling.

I doubt you'll actually miss them once you enjoy all of our beer.

KBS and BB are harder to get even here in Grand Rapids, but they make plenty of Breakfast Stout. I would think it will be pretty easy to find.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing about Texas. KBS and BB (KBS more so) requires store hunting but Breakfast Stout was so plentiful that cases often sat on the floor which was awesome.

Ya there are stores here that still have Breakfast Stout on the shelf.

Founders will definitely be welcome for 12 oz bottles of quality stouts and porters. Plus canned All Day15 packs sounds legit to me

They have only made it a few times, the most recent was released this past fall, but kegs only. I see kegs pop of from time to time, so maybe...if you are extra lucky someone there might get one out your way.

The last time it was bottled was 2011 as part of their Backstage Series. They claimed the Backstage beers were a one and done....however they re-released Blushing Monk this year which was the first Backstage beer they did. So there is always hope for another bottling of CBS, but there are only so many maple syrup aged bourbon barrels to go around.

Backwoods in SoCal would be amazing. Nothing here can match the beer + small bottle size. Fingers crossed.

They've been hiring Bay Area reps since July.

Anyone know who the bay area distributor is? Would love to nag my friends bar about getting a few kegs.

I talked to the rep a few days ago. Norcal first and Socal about this time next year.
