Never had that one but I'm sure I'll be there to try it...and all the others!

Never had double trouble? That does not compute! It's my favorite seasonal double or imperial ipa ever!

It blows Hoptimum away! At least last years did!

Not an IPA guy...stouts are my thing. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't try one:wink:

I'm assuming at that price they charge for pours?

Honestly I think this list is pretty meh being from southwest Michigan originally (sans KBS of course). They need to bring some CBS or Blushing Monk to Philly and blow some minds.

That's probably true if you live in MI (born and raised there myself:slight_smile:). But for those in this area, many of these don't get seen too often. And yes, I'm sure they're charging for each pour. The $8 is just admission. But it looks like a worthwhile music/beer event. Don't go to too many of these as I don't like the crowds. But the venue is supposed to be pretty good.

There's nothing on that list that is not readily available throughout the year.

Those bottles have all been in the Philly/NJ area other than the BA Red's Rye

Exactly, except for BA Red's Rye, they're all available, especially on tap, at one time or another throughout the year. Though, I can see where a hobbyist would get excited to see them all at the same time.

CBS IMO was not mind blowing, it was good, not great, and Doom was turrible, why ruin a great beer like Double Trouble, by barrel aging it? I'm in the minority on that, but I traded a second bottle of Doom for 3 fresh Pliny the Elder with a buddy in Petaluma.

Word is there will be some beers not seen outside their taproom like Panther Cub which I had the pleasure of trying while in Grand Rapids. Should be fun especially with the music.

No, they aren't. Those beers aren't likely to be made for distribution again, at least not any time soon. The fact that they were available on tap is immaterial. They aren't, not any more. Some bottles of Sweet Repute are still floating around, but the others are long gone, and not returning. That's hardly "readily available throughout the year."

They did, two years ago. Places were mobbed, but very few minds were blown.

Doom, and Boltcutter can still be had with ease by the bottle. Those beers suck.

Sweet repute and Mango well if they're your thing then that's cool but I would surmise you would be in the minority in enjoying those things.

The only beer that is sought after would be KBS which makes it a suspect event even with panther club on the possible list.

I drank a Sweet Repute almost every day for two weeks, $6.50/10oz. It was hardly a fast mover. What are you going to do, have a glass of every beer they put on tap? As I said, it's an event for a hobbyist. Pay a cover charge just for the stand in a packed bar and try to get a bartender's attention, only to pay double what it costs any other place? Just in order to post on here that you got try all these special beers in one night.

No thanks, I'll be casually sipping on some KBS's with friends, in an uncrowded bar that doesn't hold "events".
