Yeah, they've become more prevalent since my original post. I'm starting to beleive it's not just leftovers.... time will tell.

At the low low price of $10.99 per 12oz bottle. If Rye PA the low low price of $4.99 per bottle.

It's not just leftovers. They got a two-month temporary license in advance of the Firestone Invitational and are clearly using it as a chance to gauge demand in California, which is a really hard market for outside breweries to succeed in. I'd say they're doing everything right to make a big splash, though.

With that in mind, is this limited to SD? Those of us in LA could use some Founders love.

We could use more craft beer love in general, though it's been a lot better this last 2 or 3 years, then it was say 5 years ago. Some great progress, but for the size, we still have some ground to cover, about a half dozen more breweries in LA would be a nice start. In the mean time, Founders in CA would be just awesome. Hope this pans out.

I agree, it is quite a bit better. I think part of why I would jump for joy at Founders entering the SoCal market would be because of their packaging--the 12 oz bottle. It goes without saying that their beers kick ass, but to have such high quality brew available in 4-packs or sixers would make me and my wallet happy.

    Founder's Brewing Keep the Pint!

    Friday, May 18th @ 5:00pm

Founder's Brewing was voted by Ratebeer.com as the #2 Brewery in the WORLD for 2012! As a result of the recent Craft Brewer's Conference in San Diego, we were able to get our dirty little mits on EIGHT kegs from this amazing brewery from Grand Rapids, Michigan! The event starts at 5 an as usualy, the glasses will go fast! Here's the line up:

All Day IPA – Session Ale
4.7% ABV – The beer you've been waiting for. Keeps your taste satisfied while keeping your senses sharp. An all-day IPA naturally brewed with a complex array of malts, grains and hops. Balanced for optimal aromatics and a clean finish. The perfect reward for an honest day's work and the ultimate companion to celebrate life's simple pleasures.

    Centennial IPA
7.2% ABV – Get ready to bask in the glory of the frothy head's floral bouquet. Relish the citrus accents from the abundance of dry hopping. This one's sweet, yet balanced. Malty undertones shake hands with the hop character for a finish that never turns too bitter.

    Curmudgeon***
9.8% ABV – Think classic seafaring ports, local pubs, and weathered old fishermen. This old ale is brewed with molasses and an insane focus on the malt bill, then oak-aged. The result is a strong, rich, malty delight that's deceptively smooth and drinkable.

    Dirty Bastard***
8.5% ABV –Complex in finish, with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. Ain't for the wee lads.

    Double Trouble***
9.4% ABV – An Imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops will be get you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front pair with a malt-balanced backbone and a smooth bitter finish.

    Linchpin – Collaboration w/Green Flash
7.0% ABV - There’s a lot going on in this beer with two yeast strains, copious amounts of wheat malt, and a big focus on ‘C’ hops to deliver a citrus explosion. This golden beer pours with beautiful, frothy white beer foam. Hop flavors of bitter orange zest dominate the brew and linger to the finish with a nice play of American and Belgian yeast combo. A beer with so many components can be held together with a “Linchpin”.

    Porter
6.5% ABV – Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders' robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It's a lover, not a fighter.

    Red’s Rye P.A.
6.6% ABV – Serious hop bitterness, along with an unyielding grapefruit bouquet from the Amarillo dry hop, balances the malty richness of four varieties of imported Belgian caramel malts. Pours a spectacular crimson with a creamy tan head. A generous addition of rye malt accentuates a spicy, crisp finish.
