I was able to find it on draft easily last year, i just couldn't get a bottle.

Totally agree. I did a head to head a few months back and had the same result, but the BCBCS was fresh and the KBS was 9 months old.

Nice. Good luck to all. I had it on tap here in Boston last year and drank a couple bottles up in Portland, ME this past summer. It's a great beer but I'm finding no beer is worth the heartache. Maybe I'll run into it like i did last year.

So the "does anyone else think this year's batch isn't as coffee-heavy as last year's" threads will start on what...March 28th or so?

yea bcbs and kbs aren't really very similar. Overall I'd probably say kbs but I'm pretty content drinking breakfast stout tbh. I wonder what the base of bcbs tastes like.

I can't wait to get a case of KBS and trade them all 1:1 for BCBCS.

Feeling excited! I missed last year by a half hour. Hoping to get it this time.

I always look forward to calling around and chasing this damn beer. NOT!

I love the beer, alot, but I don't know if the headache of running around for a single bottle, or two bottles will be worth my time. I've got a few "spots" but they always seem to get over ran and I end up getting just more pissed about it as I strike out.

Had it on draft last year, twice, and drank my fair share of it. 16 ounce pints at this place.. didn't know what they had!

I had '13 KBS on tap back in November and it instantly became my favorite beer. It was like drinking the most decadent dessert imaginable, like a combination of fudgy dark chocolate, black coffee, oak, vanilla, and booze soaked raisins. I still have two bottles of the '12 vintage left--maybe I'll crack one tonight.

I always wonder how that happens. I guess the distributor just sells it to them without informing them what it is? You'd think the sticker price on the invoice might make a place think twice when putting something like KBS on draft, but I guess there are always going to be clueless bar owners.

I'm also tired of the chase. This pops up many times throughout the year here on draft, so I'll pick up a bottle or 2 where I know it will be easy, and leave the rest for the hoarders. I always get my fill during Philly Beer Week, and don't care for it much older than a few months, so it's all good.

They KNEW they had KBS, and it was a somewhat sought after beer, but what they didn't give a damn about was the portion size. Normal crappy pint glasses. It was sold at a "finer" restaurant/bar, that only has like 4-5 taps, and a handful of craft selections amongst the Buds and Hinies.

It was $11 or $12 a pint, so they were trying to get their money on the keg, but I was okay with a $11 16ounce pint of KBS. Drank 3 in one sitting.

We have KBS on at least every other month (March 15th at Rich-O's), and it is frequently served in pint glasses for $10ish. This delicious restaurant called Hammerheads "threw away all of their non-pint glassware" so now everything comes in pints. A pint of Behemoth is $8 when it's there. Other places to 10oz pours for about $7.

i think the closest you can get is aged night stalker. i have some 2010 night stalker that tastes a lot like BCBS without the barrel.

I'll do what I can. Remember, I clarified this to say I have myself on TWO lists to be alerted when it's available. Let's hope someone comes through...seems to be QUITE the demand for this liquid gold:wink:

It is SOOO dependent on where you live around the country. In Philly we seem to be pretty blessed with Founders product.

At least based on my tasting..KBS was much better with about 9 months on it. Totally yummy!
