I won't get any here above board. There's a liquor store that gets grey market stuff frequently. They'll probably charge an arm and a leg if they get any.

Most places got a case and everyone sold just single bottles; I think $6. Gone most places the same day, if not just a few hours.

Ditto. In GR and have to chase the single bottles and maybe get a 4 pack from your local bottle shop hook up. Got ticket this year which helps but not enough to last a year, especially after hooking up friends.

Last year I got six no problem. This year I might just get one. Not my favorite from founders. Give me a Backwoods Bastard!

Last year I went to one shop in Kzoo & waited in line 2 hrs for a 4 pk but 20min before they started selling it they saw the line & dropped it to 2 bottles per person

For the most part it doesn't hit shelves in Atlanta. The bigger stores have lines before it arrives and the smaller stores get so little you almost have to know someone. Last year I lucked out and got one bottle from a place that gets their shipment a couple days after the larger stores. Since I first heard of KBS (2010 I think) I've been able to get two bottles in 5 years.

I've never seen a single bottle of this on the shelf here in the Albany Saratoga area. Got wind of some draft events I haven't been able to make. Got my shit together this year and got on a list at my favorite store in hopes of a 4 pack and finally trying this beer.

It varies store to store, some places will sell it by the bottle at an inflated price. Most I would say sell it by the 4-pack but it sells out very fast. If a store announces that it is in stock on social media, you have maybe 20 minutes to get there and buy it.

You always hear about a few exception stores where somehow it lasts for a several hours, but these stores are never close or convenient to get to.

A few places will do a scheduled release with tickets/raffle etc..

So you buy one, drink one, rate one, and then what?

Is there such a thing as sustainable drunkenness? Give me a beer that I can re buy another day, or week, and still enjoy. These one timer beers are sad to me

I got 3 4packs last year. Myocal spot got 10 cases I believe. Another spot got 12. It was plentiful however it still sold out in a day.

I've never actually seen it on the shelves here in NJ but it's getting to be that way here with even some of the wider release limited beers. If you don't know someone, you don't get it. Bugs the crap out of me...

Founders doesn't distribute to Colorado so availability is nonexistent for me to purchase KBS. Luckily, I have an outstanding regular trade partner in MI :grinning:

I've got a (sort of) funny story about KBS. I mentioned to my boss that its kind of a rarity in some parts of the country, and how it's always so limited everywhere that does get it. He took that to mean "I can charge whatever I want and people will still buy it!" , so when the store I work at got its one or two cases last year, he charged $12 a bottle and put a 1-bottle limit on them. I felt like I had already done enough damage so I didn't really say anything to him about it, but we still had bottles of it left at the beginning of may... Idk if you could count that as available, but it was here for over a month lol

In Cincinnati, it's nice that I have access to three states. It's one of things where the past few years, I find a case if I'm not looking and not a drop if I'm searching.

I'm looking at 1-4 bottles. That's 1-4 more bottles than I'll have on March 31. So all's good.

I consider myself very fortunate in that I live an hour away from Founders. I scored a ticket online so I can purchase up to 12 bottles at Founders and save myself the time, frustration and indignity of slummin' around local stores hoping I can score a bottle. Also, I can buy KBS at $5 per bottle. I doubt I'll see many people post that they purchased KBS at $5 per bottle at any other place besides Founders.

If I didn't get the ticket to make this purchase with ease and at a fair price, I wouldn't give KBS the time of day. Simply because there are a lot of excellent barrel aged stouts now. Enough so that I won't put up with the headaches.

Your boss is a dong sniffer.

GSO and Raleigh in NC go quick, a few hours. Faster than any other limited release for sure (Hopslam, BCBS, Harvest, Backwoods etc.)

I acquired the last bottle on Black Friday last year (they were giving out BCBS and used the opportunity to sell other beers, including ZD, KBS, Black Note, etc.).

Wasn't very impressed relative to the other beers I got.
