From their announcement to their Cadre:
It’s time to celebrate two decades of barrel-aging imperial stouts with KBS Blueberry. In honor of the 20th anniversary of KBS, we’ve given this legendary beer a dose of Michigan blueberries. The alluring aroma of dessert brings you in, while layers of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, oak and bourbon barrel notes become more profound with every sip. A sweet and sophisticated tribute to a world-renowned beer. 11.2% ABV

Look out for KBS Blueberry in stores near you this August! If you can’t wait to try this beer, head down to the taproom on July 14 for your first pint!

Could be tasty, will definitely be interesting!

With any luck. I thought Lizard of Koz was excellently done, and I'm not a big fan of blueberries. It was probably the first berry stout that I thought really nailed it. I'm not sure if the same approach will work as well for KBS; LOK was really smooth and rich, while KBS leans harsher and roastier.

But we'll see. The most recent batch I got of OG KBS was really, really good. As long as I can keep getting the OG (and occasionally some more Maple Mackinac  ), I don't really mind what variants they trot out.

    Blueberry, yes, please.
Hopefully it buries the vanilla & coffee notes...

I love blueberries, so I LOVED Lizard of Koz.

Looks like Imma have to buy another fridge for the KBS Blueberry stash I will acquire.

This was my immediate reaction. Lizard of Koz is probably the worst barrel aged stout that Founders ever made.

    Yes, please!
Edit: as long as it's not a bomber or a 750.

I was skeptical at first, but if anyone can make this a great beer, it's Founders.

I just drink beer in my spare time, but making a vanilla KBS would seem like an easy decision. Perhaps even take it a step further by making a Handjee knock-off with vanilla and marshmallow. According to my fellow BAs, they have done Vanilla Bean KBS on tap.

Save the blueberries for the pancakes and muffins. KBS doesn't need anything added

Yeah, none of the variants have done anything for me. The original is still the best and I don't think I'll be picking this one up.

Didn't buy the Cherry because I don't really love fruit in stouts. I would have bought a single if I'd seen it because I love Founders and especially KBS.
Likewise, I'll pass on this unless I see a single.

the only variant that i believe is worth mentioning was 1) the one with something "TAC" chocolate apologies can't recall the name atm and 2) the espresso variant. lots of people seem to be fond of the latter whereas the first one i mentioned is basically a breakfast beer to drink alongside some good eats in the morning to start your day off right.

Beer Tree Morning Timber Blueberry stout if you want a well made blueberry stout IMO. Leave KBS as base or Mackinac Fudge Coffee.

I'll try one, since it sounds like it would be risky buying a pack.

When the Chocolate Cherry dropped here, it was limited to one 12-ounce bottle per person. If I see a mulitpack of KBS Blueberry, I'm buying the whole damn thing. Based on past experience with KBS variants, I can't imagine a scenario in which this wouldn't be :fire:.

Edit: I'm pairing it with blueberry muffins and pancakes, just for the hell of it.

Edit2: And Lizard of Koz was awesome.
