Founders KBS Release (2014)

Also why does every Michigan resident with a beeradvocate account feel the urge to post which day they're attending and that they had no problem getting a ticket?

 

I think they have expanded their reach so it should get to a few more states. Everything should hit on or after April 1st.

 

I'm guessing because it's a thread in the Great Lakes forum about a michigan brewery and a lot of temured BA's probably know each other due to the awesome beer specticals this state provides.

 

The tapping at Monelli's was a bit of a zoo, but they handled it about as well as could be expected, give the mobs of people that showed up. Nowhere near enough servers (or glassware) $10 for what turned out to be about an eight ounce pour. Our group of 4 was parked at the bar, right in front of the tap, and we still just barely managed to get beers for all four of us before the keg blew at 8:30. I heard that the 6 pm KBS tapping at The Score also only lasted 30 minutes.

 

Not to mention way too many people bitch and complain about prior years releases...it was nice to see such a smooth system. Go read Founders facebook comments that people leave. So much negativity that its nice to read the success stories of this years release.

 

I'm from Michigan, live in Bum Fuck Indiana, and had no problem getting a ticket. Click, click, buy!

 

How hard will it be to find parking saturday? I wanna pick up the beer have 1 and head to four winds to lose my money

 

If you want quick and easy there is a 5 dollar lot off cherry st under the highway. If you park toward the back you will be close to a staircase that is literally across the street from the brewery. I hate feeding meters and stalking for spots so this is my go to on busy days.

 

Lots of free parking right around the brewery, plus there's a big paid parking lot under the freeway about a block north of Founders.

Jeez, if it's any consolation, I'm a Mich BA and I was unable to get a Friday ticket for my girlfriend, despite having two laptops ready to go at 11:00 on the dot. Eight shared two ways doesn't last all year like 16 may have, but I ain't mad at 'em.

 

Rockwell's was $10/11oz. Easy release and a great time hanging out with Dave, Jeremey and the rest of the Founders crew. Grabbed my bottles and glasses with ease. The way a beer release should be.

 

Rockwell's is a class operation. Their rooftop area is a great place to hang out at during the two days of warm weather that we get here in GR.

 

Cottage Bar was great. Place was packed at tapping then cleared out as soon as ppl had one. Keg blew in an hour.

 

All in all I had a great time today. First time up to Founders, picking up the beer was a breeze, and got to grab some grub and a couple beers inside as well. Really wanna give it up for Founders making this as fair and simple as it could possibly be. Incredibly well managed. Really enjoyed Das Radikal, and Panther Cub was good in the pub. Thought B.A. Spite was godawful hahaha.

 

Sounds god awful. Didn't even bother.

 

I got mine.. And awesome surroundings after founders stopped by hopcat and a few other places.

 

I've grown to accept that I will never try KBS.

Considering so many people can find cases and buy them all before I can salvage a bottle.

If you can't even find a single bottle of the shit, you're really doing something wrong.

 

Everyone knows Michigan has the fastest Internet...or better yet log out of your Brazzers account and stop downloading all that **** while trying to buy tickets
