Doesn't New Holland reuse Dragon's Milk barrels? I think they age first-fill barrels for 3 months, second-fill for 7 months, and then blend them together.

I would suggest you post some beers for trade and you can get your KBS that way!

I would agree. The KBS I had last year was amazing after 8 or 9 months compared to the one bottle I had fresh.

Well that explains why dragons milk is so wonderful. I'm gonna create another thread on this because this is interesting.

The new glass may feel light in the hand but it's definitely a much better quality than Founders past few glasses.

I know for a fact that other breweries are using second hand Founders barrels, legit insider info BTW. IIRC there Blis might have been "buying" some back for their hot sauce.

For what its worth, you are speaking a hell of a lot of speculative talk with nothing more to back it up than anyone you are arguing with.

Made by one of the most reputable glassware manufacturers, I would tend to give it the benefit of the doubt. The fact that other pieces of Founders glassware I have purchases have "felt really fragile" but have been as sturdy as can be, minimizes my concerns completely.

What does fragile feel like anyways? I imagine a fragile would feel like single ply toilet paper, better double up unless you want a handful of shit, the glass didn't feel like that at all.

This thread along with other recent ones that include a certain luminary of the west Michigan beer scene require a minimum of two ply.

The re-use of barrels also explains why several people had to ask if Dragons Milk and Bourbon Barrel Dragons Milk are the same beer. As confusing as New Hollands branding tactics may be, it can be difficult to pick of the barrel presence at times.

The glass feels nice and weighty with 12 oz of KBS in there

Your whining and persistent negativity rubs many the wrong way. Founders can do no wrong in my eyes.

I said the glass felt fragile and that is whiney and negative? Geesh i feel sorry for people that hang out with you.

Now that is just plain mean. I was hoping I could stay in your tent at the next beer release.

Dude, let's face it. You come off unnecessarily negative often. One comment may not be whiney or negative, but the whole lot would direct someone to that conclusion. #realtalk

I have an opinion about many things, people often disagree and will let me know in threads. I never personally attack them in a response. That tactic does not seem to be doing you any favors. Engage in a conversation but stop short of picking a fight.

I almost bought one last year on KBS day until I realized I had no way to get it home.

Based on this I am guessing the glasses are similar to the most recent BCBS glasses, which also has that same light, fragile feel to it, which was different than the previous one. Having not held the Founder's one (yet), I understand, in theory, what you are saying. I can see how some are taking it negative, but I think you are just making a statement.....nothing to see here people.
