    KBS Spicy Chocolate!

KBS Spicy Chocolate is a blend of sweet and spicy that come together like a sensory symphony. This batch of KBS is made with dried chilies and chocolate for a rich, mole-inspired punch of flavors. Expect dark chocolate and dried peppers with hints of smoke and a spicy finish that lingers just long enough to be cooled by your next sip. A unique and unexpected twist to our KBS. 12% ABV

Come down to the taproom in February for your first sip of KBS Spicy Chocolate or grab a 4-pack to-go. This will also be in stores everywhere starting in February.

It's here and not in the Midwest as this will be, as they say, "everywhere". Could be good, it will definitely be worth trying.

if they aged it in a dog’s water bowl, it would still be better than the blueberry variant.

Anytime Founders thinks about using blueberries in a beer, they should be waterboarded with Lizard of Koz until they change their mind.

I try all KBS variants (and really any new-to-me stout) and will try this one, but lately I've not been impressed with chili-pepper beers. I often don't finish them once they start warming and the vegetal/hot peppers throw shade on the other flavors. I'll cut a single from the herd instead of investing in a pack.

I'd try a single of this variant but I wont buy a 4 pk like I did with the blueberry. I dunno what variety of peppers they're using, but ancho (or dried poblano), IMO, go well with chocolate as does cayenne. Jalapeno pepps deliver that sometimes obstinate vegetable taste but little heat, even a slow creeper burn. So far for me, no chili pepper beer (as far as heat goes) can touch Habanero Sculpin IPA or Kros-Strain Hot as Helles Lager. I've tried numerous Mexican-Style Stouts with chilis and they're rarely hot. Hoping the KBS has long, slow heat. I know it will be extremely sweet no matter what.

YES PLEASE! Although I worry I may not see it. Seems Houston didn't get (or at least, in very minimal quantity) the several of the BA releases from 2023. Which is strange b/c we've had multitudes of all the previous releases.

I never so much as saw:
    - KBS Blueberry (fine by me)
    - The gingerbread barleywine
    - CBS, though apparently it appeared briefly at one or two stores
    - Sweet Repute
    - French Toast Bastard (again, fine by me. waaaay too sweet)
    - The BA pumpkin beer. Headless Gourdsman?

    I'll definitely grab this if I see it...and I hope I do!

I'd go as far as to say this should apply to any brewer adding any fruit to any stout. Not all are terrible. But I can't think of one where the beer would not have been better without the fruit.

I'm a couple beers in, so maybe that's impairing my memory and I'm certainly open to suggestions to the contrary. But I'm not sure I'll be swayed.

    Hard ‘Nope’ here.
Keep chili peppers and cinnamon out my Stout!
    Peppers are for pad Thai.
    Cinnamon is for oatmeal.
    There. I said it.,.

I gave this some thought. The only fruit that I would actually seek out in a stout is coconut. (To be clear, I looked it up. Coconut is considered a fruit, not a nut)

I've got no beef with coconut; I'll allow it.
