Founders KBS Spicy Chocolate

Price wasn't the issue. These variants have been very hit or miss. They need to bring back Maple Mac again.

 

KBS doesn't lose in my opinion. Some are better than others, there's no doubt in that. But at the price point, every variant is worth trying every time. Cheers.

 

I'm not a fan of hot chilies beer, but I bought a single just to check it out. In order of my taste experience, I got chocolate first followed by the spiciness, but the heat is at a level that should appeal to most people who try this beer. It's somewhat below my threshold for being too spicy, so I enjoyed the beer a bit.

Shortly after the chocolate and spiciness I detected the coffee and then the bourbon barrel character. It's a nice beer, and the spiciness was not too hot for me, but I won't buy any more because of my general dislike of hot pepper beers.

 

This is unhinged behavior and I entirely approve

 

I'm a huge chili-head, just not in my beers.
Every one I have tried would have been a better beer without them in it.
Except maybe Cave Creek. That was bad beer too. In my opinion anyway.
I'd drink one if someone gave me one, but I sure wouldn't buy it.

 

$26.99 here for this and variants and that is at one of the cheaper stores. They used to fly off of the shelves here (but they were a few bucks cheaper then) but not so much anymore and right now I can have my pick of just about any variant over the last 1-2 years.

 

This beer is delicious. I’ll definitely review it when life calms down!

 

I would love to have a Founders Imperial Stout, keep your FBS, KBS and any and all variants of KBS. FVCK added junk!

 

It finally dropped here. Picked up a 4-pack for $21.99 yesterday. I'll get around to it by and by.

 

That's a good price - $24.99 for me.

 

I found this beer good but not great. Everything is subtle in this beer (coffee, bourbon, chocolate and pepper heat). I guess that is a good thing. Would like a touch more “flavor” and body as a tad thin as well. But overall I’ll take subtle over extreme any day.

 

Seems the following KBS variant may be on the way in the near future possibly.

 

I'm going to check out the 5 key on my keyboard to make sure it still works. I already have a feeling....

If they don’t stop using that cheap chocolate syrup, though…
