Take Double Trouble and put it in Brandy barrels and what happens? Yep, Looking Glass. I'm sitting here drinkin it for $5/glass here at Founders just hoping that my fellow BAs get the opportunity to drink this fine brew. 2nd only to Black Biscuit on my wish list for the backstage series.

That's taunting! Is that allowed on Beer Advocate?

I'm sorry, I really don't mean it to be...if I could share these glasses with many BAs, I would. If they bottle this, I urge people to grab a bottle...and I will personally mule them if needed.

I had this in September of 2010, very good stuff.

The name comes from the band Looking Glass, who had a hit in 1972 with the song Brandy (You're A Fine Girl).

Really hope I get the opportunity to see this on tap at some point once I'm back in Northern Indiana as of August. For frequent Founders BA's, how often does this this appear on tap at the taproom?

I've had it many times at Founders and love it. Such a unique brew.

Well when they bottle it and nobody can find a bottle, I'll know who the conductor was on that hype train.

Haha, hope it was awesome, though.

I liked Hand of Doom better, but looking glass was good.

It's rare, but our opinions are one in the same.

Wasn't a big fan of Looking Glass or Hand of Doom.

I'd love to try a version of Spite Pepper made with Double Trouble instead of Dry Hopped Pale Ale though.

I feel dirty. I would take a shower, but I don't think it will help.

I had this at Founders Fest and have to admit I didn't care for it at all. It was far too sweet. That said, I'd be willing to try it again.

Wasn't it like 100 degrees at Founders Fest? I'm not sure this would be the right beer in that situation...at least for me.

Right. It was warm, but the KBS and Frangelic sure tasted good. Like I said, I'd be willing to give it another shot.

I wish I could have Hand of Doom again, every time I had it I thought it was really boozy. Looking Glass was good the few times I had it, less bitter and sweeter even though I believe its 12%? Sad I missed this as I was just there on Sunday, at least I got to try Dave's Not Here though.

I haven't had that one but Hand of Doom (Bourbon Double Trouble) is my favorite Founders beer followed by Looking Glass. I really wish more breweries would barrel age their DIPAs.

I do like the Barrel Aged D/IPAs but the Brandy simply did not work for me with Double Trouble. DT has such a dirty, resinous hop flavor to begin with and the sharper Brandy flavor just does not compliment it IMO.
