Has anyone seen this pop up in the city yet? Specifically in Lakeview or Lincoln Park? I wouldnt mind getting my hands on a couple 6 packs. I really enjoy mosaic hops. Thanks for the help.
I remember getting Double Trouble when it first hit in July (I think) and it was bottled in May. I wonder why the delay in shipping.
Off topic, but anyone know if the Castle has any XOCOVEZA left? Or anywhere in the North Suburbs, for that matter?
River North Whole Foods for $10.99 a sixer - I passed. Got a bunch of Firestone Walker Velvet Furry Vagina Covers too at $14.99 - I also passed.
We've got plenty at Binny's Skokie - as well as Mosaic for that matter. Mosaic shipped to us early last week, and the agreement with Founders was to hold it for release on 9/15, to coincide with the scheduling of ArtPrize in GR (runs tomorrow through 10/7). I assume they brewed it in the closest slot they could find in their schedule. After all, they need to start shipping a metric shit-ton of Breakfast Stout in the upcoming weeks.
I picked up 2 six packs at the Plainfield Binnys on Tuesday and noticed they were a month old already. I asked them this exact question on their Instagram and they responded quickly with this answer: Edit: I'm dumb and can't figure out how to link directly to the comments of this picture so click on "Foundersbrewing" right above the picture and it will take you to Founders Instagram page. Click on this pic again and read the comments. It's easier than I'm making it sound trust me
You could always just copy the reply! [QUOTE="foundersbrewing" We did a couple of bottling runs of Mosaic Promise in order to make sure that it arrived to select markets in time for the launch. Because of differing distributor pickup schedules, and because of our full packaging schedule, that date was what worked best for the first run. Plus, a month is well within our estimated shelf life for this first-time release. Cheers, we hope you enjoy it![/QUOTE]
I tried doing that from my iPhone and it wouldn't copy for some reason. I'm dumb but not that dumb lol
Because they always put "release" dates on their beers so all the markets release it the same time. But Founders needs to figure out how to do this in a more timely manner, the beers were in town the week before they were released.
It may work with other beers like kbs or breakfast, but I want my IPAs fresh. I've had enough to know what kind of drop off there is.
Had one today with the same bottling date and it was fantastic. Not sure how you can tell a beer has "dropped off" when you haven't had it "fresh" to compare.
