Founders Nemesis 2009

An amazing brew, one of my favs as well. unfortunately already drank mine!

 

I traded for some about a year ago but I can't recall what I sent but I know it wasn't anything huge and the guy even threw in a 4th bottle as an extra!

 

I only managed to buy 3 bottles when it came out... Drank one and tossed the others in boxes to even the trades up a bit.
I've since managed to get 2 or 3 as delicious extras.

I don't know that people really "trade for it" since I don't know anyone that got enough quantity to actually trade it away at more than 1 or 2 bottles per person.
I suppose you can make 10 or 12 trades for single bottles, but that just seems like a waste of time and effort.

Nemesis '09 was so good I bought every bottle I could find, & my wife, liked it too, so it disappeared fast, except for a couple bottles I stuck in the cellar. Stellar beer.

Not sure what others think, but I wouldn't trade anything dear for it if you haven't had one lately. Popped one recently & the beer has become a weird, muddled mess. Not sure if it's all done or just in a strange phase, but one of the few cellar disappointments I've had. Have three more bottles & am going to let them sit for a long spell hoping it was just acne & the beer comes around again.

 

Yeah, the maple sweetness seems to have gone down a bit. The booze is still there, though.

To the OP: You have a few things in your gots that should land it. BA Blackout would probably get some with the right trader. Upland Persimmon may do it as well. I know when it came it Atlanta, it was available for a while and I bought a few four packs, though it was almost exactly two years ago now. I'm not really looking to trade any right now, though.

 

i have a few i would trade for sour stuff thats fairly limited or other similar harder to obtain barrel aged things if that helps.

 

I had a few 09' Nemesis when it was first released, and thought it was really good. However I recently opened a bottle, and thought it was absolutely amazing. One of the better beers I had had in a while.

If anyone thinks its past its prime shoot me a BM, for I would love to make am offer, and take them off your hands.

 

I popped one about 3 months ago and thought the same. I've thrown in a few as nice extras or to sweeten the pot in deals, but never had enough to make full blown trades. I'm letting my last two bottles cellar to see if it comes out of this weird phase.

 

I've been sitting on a few of them as well. I've also found that they've gotten so much better with age on them. I wasn't a huge fan at all when they were fresh. Over time though they have become one of my favorites that's been in my cellar.

 

I didn't love that beer so I extra'd away quite a few. Basically whenever I saw it on wants or top wants lists but it shouldn't take that much to land unless you're talking to someone that absolutely loves it and doesn't really want to trade away any.

 

Wow, I bought a bunch and stuck it away. I haven't even thought about it since, I'll have to go see how many and crack one open soon.
