Founders or Ten Fiddy?

I got both in the cellar, Founders IS is great and one of my favorites in the style. Had a Ten Fidy last night and it was great but not as good as Founders IMO.... But I did fall asleep half way through the Ten Fidy and woke up at 3am and finished it and it was awesome.

 

My vote is for Ten Fidy!

 

I tip the scale toward Ten Fiddy. Both are very good. I might need a refresher course though...anybody want to send me some FIS?

 

I like Founders more, but they are both great.

Easy one - FIS - better beer, substantially less $$$.

 

i just chimed in on a theard about Ten Fidy and Bells Expedition and i have the same answer i liked Ten Fidy when i first started in craft beer and its still good but Founders blows it out of the water...CHEERS

 

the FIDY...Founders can't have everything go their way...

 

Ten Fidy is much more port-like and has some dark fruitiness. Founders is all roast and hop bitterness. I like them both but would choose Ten Fidy in a pinch.

 

Not to be a a-hole, but I wouldn't call 25 minutes sipping :-) If you pulled it from the fridge then IMO you never allowed it to reach the proper temperature if you drank it that fast. Cheers!

 

Never had Founders RIS to compare it to, but I get a lot of bitterness from Ten Fidy's 100 IBU's

 

Oh, its bitter. But Founder's is bracingly so.

 

Can taste? Metallic? Like all beers in a keg? No such thing IMHO. The stigma just doesn't hold water..er .. Beer Or kegs would be made of glass. Quite often this follow years of drinking macro brews and making a distinction between can and bottle. In which case it is usually a choice of which tastes more shitty? Putting your lips on a semi dirty warehouse stored can top.. Or a clean bottle top. Cheers.

 

This thread's driving me to distraction thinking about my last bottle of last year's Founder and my last can of Ten FIDY of similar vintage, both of which will be vying for my attention when I get home.

(I'll likely go with the Founders.)

A little side by side testing in the spirit of this thread? That's how I'd lean if I was you! Can't go wrong with it.

 

i have a founders Ris in the fridge at home and my local bottle shop has some ten fidy hmmmm lets do this haha
